Aurora's public refusal to give Miller any face left the teacher deeply embarrassed. Scowling, Miller stormed out, slamming the door behind her. She completely ignored the other teachers she had brought with her to the vice principal's office, not even sparing the vice principal a single word.
The vice principal huffed in displeasure, clearly growing more and more dissatisfied with Miller.
Donovan, however, was happier than anyone. She admitted to herself that she hadn't treated Aurora very well before. She had even once considered Aurora a troublemaker and was dead set on getting her kicked out of Class 10. 'When Miller made that friendly overture,' she thought, 'I was sure Aurora would go to Class 1. After all, everyone wants to aim higher.' But unexpectedly, Aurora had chosen to stay in Class 10.
