Rogge closed his eyes.
But the anticipated pain never came. Instead, he heard the sound of metal clattering to the ground.
He opened his eyes to see his Long Sword lying on the ground. The tip of his opponent's sword was poised steadily before his throat, and the cold touch made the hair on his neck stand on end.
"Surrender, or die."
The Knight's icy voice rang out.
Rogge looked at the devastated castle and listened to the distant cries of women and children. His straight spine slumped.
"I… surrender."
The Knight retracted his sword and gestured with his chin toward the Weapon on the ground.
"Have your men lay down their Weapons and assemble in the square."
Ten minutes later, Golden Wheat Castle was completely conquered.
Ed, along with a few officers, escorted the dejected Knight Rogge before Raylo.
"My lord, the castle has been cleared. We've captured three hundred and forty-seven defenders."
Raylo nodded, his gaze falling upon Knight Rogge.
"You're a good Knight."
