Leaving the commune, Leng Yuan did not take Gu Jiaojiao back to the village. Instead, they went to the County Town.
He pulled out a letter of introduction and booked a room.
Once they entered, Gu Jiaojiao finally spoke up, "When did you get the letter of introduction? Did you know I would be released tonight?"
Leng Yuan pulled her into his arms.
He had panicked the moment he found out Gu Jiaojiao had been taken away, but he had been forced to calm himself down at the time. If he had panicked while she was under arrest, who would have saved his little wife?
As for the letter of introduction, it was simply used as bait.
Gu Jiaojiao waited for a moment. When Leng Yuan didn't reply, she asked again.
Leng Yuan finally spoke. "If it's something we didn't do, they'll naturally let us go once they investigate and clear things up."
