Back home, Lin Lan and Li Xiangyang were preserving the vegetables they had picked, sun-drying some and pickling others.
A little after three o'clock, a strong wind suddenly picked up. Lin Lan and Li Xiangyang hurried to the backyard to bring the various dried vegetables inside.
Li Xiangyang looked at the dark, heavy sky. "Looks like we won't be seeing the moon tonight."
"And we won't be able to go on our picnic tomorrow. The weather forecast said it's going to rain today and tomorrow." Before she could finish, Xu Dong and Yao Xiuyun walked over.
Li Xiangyang smiled. "Weren't you two delivering festival gifts? How come you're back so early?"
Xu Dong shot him a look. "For a veteran son-in-law like me, coming home this late is already showing them plenty of respect."
Yao Xiuyun rolled her eyes at him. "If you wanted to leave, you could have! No one was stopping you."
Xu Dong pointed at her. "See? Women just don't like to hear the honest truth."
