Zuo Yi's pupils constricted. He stammered in shock, "I... I was just..."
"Just what?" Shen Lang scoffed. "Forget it. Say no more. I don't want to hear anything about him. It's giving me a headache."
Zuo Yi fell silent.
Shen Lang casually flicked a cricket away with her chopsticks and said, her gaze lowered, "Do you know why I came here?"
Zuo Yi stiffened, raising his head in a fluster to stare at her. "Why...? Isn't it because you missed me, Master?"
"As if." Shen Lang scoffed and put down her chopsticks. She began to stroll leisurely out of the hall, her voice soft. "The air in your Demon Realm is much fresher than on Liuxian Peak."
Zuo Yi scratched his head, letting out a sigh of relief for some reason. He followed her, smiling. "It is, isn't it? I know you appreciate the finer things, Master, so I had them purify the air for days on end, just waiting for you to come back."
