"Cassian Jennings, I tried to force you to marry Amelia back then, and you refused. What good does saying all this do now?" After he spoke, Aiden Avery coldly brushed Cassian's hand away, turned, and strode off.
Cassian watched Aiden walk away, then looked at the tightly closed door. He walked over and knocked on the door, his voice hoarse and trembling. "Amelia, I know I've made a lot of mistakes. I hope you can give me a chance to truly cherish you."
Hearing his voice, Amelia raised her head. She pushed herself up from the floor, walked to the side of the bed, and lay down, pulling the covers tightly over her head.
But the voice outside continued, relentlessly.
"Amelia, please give me a chance. Can we start over? Let's not lose each other again."

Cassian didn't know how long he spoke, only that his voice eventually grew hoarse. Still, there was no sound from the woman in the room.
