When he saw Mortimer Quincy's notes, he paused. It was obvious they were written by his significant other.
He gave Mortimer Quincy five bonus points.
Since it was a small class with not many students, he had already glanced through everyone's notes by the time class started.
He had the notes passed back, then summarized, "Aside from a couple of significant others who took diligent notes, the rest of you students shouldn't be so stingy with your words. It doesn't hurt to write more."
Mortimer Quincy and Holly Winslow were the only couple in the entire class that day, so everyone instantly understood and glanced their way. Feeling their stares, Holly lowered her head in embarrassment.
The professor spoke for a few more moments before starting the lecture proper. About ten minutes later, he pointed to the projector and said, "The family representative for Mortimer Quincy, please stand up and answer this question. Same deal, bonus points."
