In the suburbs of Queens, New York City, NY, a young man walked into his room carrying some snacks.
He had shiny black hair, sapphire blue eyes and looked like a typical eighteen-year-old European teenager living in America.
Just as he jumped onto his bed and took out his phone, a blue holographic panel materialized before him, startling him. But after a quick glance, his eyes widened in pure, unadulterated joy.
"Is it finally here?" He muttered softly and began reading the message.
[ Congratulation! The Solo Leveling System is fully online. A Starter Gift Pack has been granted. Do you wish to open it? ]
'After two years, I finally got it. My very own system.' The young man, Zayne, thought to himself in relief.
In reality, he was someone, with the same name, who had died and reincarnated into this world, which was none other than the Marvel Universe. Only two years ago, he remembered his past life memories, and today, the system was finally here.
In this world, he and his sister in-name, Wanda Maximoff, were orphans who were kidnapped by Hydra and experimented on. Later, they were brought to a US facility for further experiments, where his sister, Wanda, awakened her powers and in a fit of rage, destroyed the entire facility. Among the many captives, only they managed to survive.
The siblings managed to forge fake identities for themselves. Wanda's chaos magic also proved quite useful at manipulating people's mind. During this time, Zayne also awakened his powers, which were raw speed and enhanced perception.
Two years passed since their escape and now they were a rich family living in Queens, New York City. Though, they ensured that their powers stayed hidden.
So, they began their normal life on the surface. Zayne, who was a reincarnated soul, choose to join the Empire State University, where major Marvel characters such as Peter Parker, Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy might be present. But speaking truthfully, Zayne, in his past life, wasn't a fanboy. He preferred the hot Marvel girls over meeting superheroes like Iron Man or Spider-Man.
And with his current powers, Zayne didn't have to worry about anything in the short term. Since from what he knew, mutants didn't exist in this version of Marvel, much like the MCU. Though, people could still awaken strange powers like he and his sister did.
While he joined the university as a student, his sister, who was actually a few years older than him, decided to join the university as a librarian. It was not only a simple job, but she could also spend most of her time reading books, which proved quite effective due to her increased intellect.
Right now, it was mid-August, 2008. The new academic year at the Empire State University has just started. Tomorrow would be Zayne's first day at university.
Since it was August already, Iron Man was already born during late summer, where he revealed himself before the media. As a reincarnator, Zayne knew that Tony Stark looked like Robert Downey Junior, the actor who played the role, and his sister looked like Elizabeth Olsen.
During these two years, Zayne used his past life memories to earn a lot of money. He made Wanda use her powers to mind control local gang leaders to extort money from them. He also used that money to invest in stocks of companies that he knew would continue to grow.
In just two years, his stocks were in hundreds of thousands and Zayne didn't have to worry about money for the time being. He might not be filthy rich like Tony or T'Challa or even someone like Stephen Strange or Wilson Fisk, but he had enough money to live comfortably.
Coming back to the system message, Zayne hesitated only for a moment before saying 'Yes'.
