Chapter 95 - Chapter 93 : Do you want him dead?

Hey buddies!, I'm back.

I know I left this story hanging but I'm back!

So..enjoy..

Jay-Jay's POV

The laughter died as quickly as it had started.

Uncle Kier straightened his jacket, his face shifting into a mask of professional coldness.

He looked at Elara, and the silent message between them was clear.

"Okay,"

Elara said, her voice dropping into a hollow, quiet tone.

"I understand."

She walked back to the metallic suitcase, her boots clicking rhythmically against the concrete.

She pulled out the gun,

her fingers wrapping around the grip with a familiarity that made my skin crawl.

For the last time, her gaze swept across the room—

looking at me, at Keifer, at Section E.

There was no mercy left in her eyes.

Only the job.

"No... no... please!"

Keizer shrieked, his voice hitting a pathetic, high-pitched wail.

He scrambled on the floor, trying to reach for the Sergeant's boots.

"I'll do whatever you say! I'll give you everything! Just don't...

please..."

But.

THUD.

The sound was heavy and final.

Blood sprayed across the gray dust of the warehouse floor.

I pulled Kerien into me as hard as I could, shielding his eyes, though a single, hot tear escaped my own.

I saw it.

I didn't want to, but I had to.

It was the end of a nightmare, sealed in red.

Keifer's face was unreadable, a blank wall of shock and exhaustion.

But Keigen?

He looked satisfied, his jaw unclenched for the first time tonight.

Elara stared down at the body for a moment before turning toward us.

She gave us a small, genuine smile—the kind of smile a friend gives you after a long day.

I couldn't return it.

None of us could.

The silence in the room was so heavy it felt like it was crushing us.

Then, she did something I never expected.

She walked straight to Keifer and pulled him into a tight hug.

Keifer's POV

I stood there, staring at the body of the man who shared my blood but never my heart.

I felt nothing.

No sadness, no pity—just a strange, hollow emptiness.

I didn't know how to react or where to put my hands.

Suddenly, I felt Elara's arms wrap around me.

Her uniform smelled like gunpowder and blood.

I froze, my brain struggling to process the warmth of the hug in the middle of a literal morgue.

"It's okay, bro,"

she whispered in my ear, her voice barely audible.

"Take care of my sister-in-law for me."

She pulled back and flashed me a bright, knowing smile.

I didn't even realize I was doing it, but I felt my own lips quirk upward in return.

It was the first breath of real air I'd taken all night.

Then, the world tilted again.

A police officer stepped forward

—the same one who had smirked at her earlier.

He didn't smile now.

He grabbed Elara's wrists and the metallic click of handcuffs echoed through the silent warehouse.

"What is happening?"

Edrix gasped.

Shock rippled through Section E like a physical wave.

"Elara..." Jay finally spoke, her voice trembling.

A tear was shimmering in her eye, ready to fall.

Elara turned, the silver cuffs glinting on her wrists. She smiled softly.

"Yes, Jay?"

"What is this?"

Jay asked, gesturing to the officers.

"Why are they doing this?"

Elara just raised a dark eyebrow, her expression calm.

CN scrambled forward, his usual jokes completely gone.

"Elara!

Where are you going?

Tell them to stop!"

"To the lockup, CN," she said simply.

"Why?!" CN shouted.

"You saved us!"

"What do you mean 'why'?"

She tilted her head, a small, sad smirk playing on her lips.

"I committed a crime.

Life isn't a fanfiction, guys.

There are consequences for pulling triggers."

Before he could protest, she stepped forward and pulled CN into a brief, firm hug, rubbing his back.

"Don't worry.

I'll be back before you even finish your next prank."

Keigen's POV

Everything around here is a complete mess—the flashing red and blue lights, the police chatter, Section E huddled together in quiet shock.

But amidst the chaos, the single most satisfying thing in this room is the lifeless body lying right in the center of the concrete.

My so-called father. Dead.

I looked over at Elara, who was finishing up her conversation with Section E,

her cuffs gleaming under the stark lighting.

The moment my eyes landed on her, she turned her head.

Her gaze locked onto mine, and her lips curled into a sharp, knowing smirk.

It was the exact same smirk she gave me that day.

Flashback~

(The day Keifer and Jay went to my room to unlock that trunk with the key)

"WTF! WTF!"

I shouted, my voice echoing off the hallway walls as Elara suddenly stepped into my path, physically blocking me from going upstairs.

"Keigen, stop!"

she commanded, her tone dangerously firm.

"Ughhh!"

Fueled by pure panic,

I pushed her back with all my strength and threw a solid punch straight at her face.

I didn't care.

I needed to get up there before they opened it.

But before I could even take two steps toward the stairs, Elara grabbed me again, her grip like iron as she shook my shoulders forcibly.

"I'm telling you, just stop right here!"

she yelled, her voice cutting through my frenzy.

She was looking directly into my eyes, and hell—I was scared.

My throat went dry and I gulped.

But the rage inside me was at its absolute peak.

I wanted to stop, but I couldn't; that monster clawing inside my chest wouldn't let me.

"Ugh!"

I shoved her back again, landing another blind punch.

I turned to run after them, but I didn't even make it a foot.

"Ughhh!"

A sharp, agonizing burst of pain shot up my leg, and I went crashing straight to the concrete floor.

She had executed a lightning-fast kick directly to the back of my knee.

Before I could even blink or clear my vision—

"Ughhh!"

Now I was clutching my jaw, my head ringing.

She had leaned down and delivered a heavy, brutal punch to my face.

"I TOLD YOU TO STOPPPP!"

she yelled, standing over me, her finger pointed directly at my face like a weapon.

I looked up into her eyes, and through the haze of pain, I saw something that froze my blood.

A shadow of the exact same monster I carried inside myself.

Before my brain could process it, her hand shot out, yanked my collar, and forced me into an upright sitting position on the cold floor.

"CAN'T YOU JUST LISTEN FOR A BITTT?!"

she raged.

"Fuck...!"

I muttered under my breath, wincing.

HELL, DONT. CURSE. IN. FRONT. OF. MEEEE!!

She yanked my collar again, hard enough to choke me.

Dammit, it hurt like hell.

I tried my best not to show any weakness, but her strikes were solid, precise, and unforgiving.

Then, she leaned down, her face inches from mine, and said something that made the floor completely vanish under me.

"Do you want him dead?"

she asked.

My breath hitched in my throat. I stared at her, completely paralyzed.

"Do you want that monster dead?"

she asked again.

Her voice didn't tremble.

Her eyes carried zero hesitation, zero fear, and absolute certainty.

"Yes,"

my mouth muttered before my brain could even stop to analyze the consequences.

She smirked.
