Some minutes later, Liora and I found ourselves in Halcyon parking lot.
We simply stood there, staring at each other while my brain struggled to process everything she had just said.
Paris.
Tomorrow.
International campaign.
Even now, the words felt unreal.
Then suddenly, Liora grabbed my shoulders.
"We're going to Paris!"
I blinked at her.
"We're going to Paris."
"No, Evelyn, listen to me properly." She shook me lightly. "Paris. Another country. Another continent. People save money for years just to visit Paris."
A laugh escaped before I could stop it.
The excitement shining in her eyes was impossible to ignore.
Employees walked past us carrying files and laptops, but Liora looked completely unconcerned about who was watching.
"We're actually leaving tomorrow."
I smiled.
"Apparently."
"Apparently?" She looked personally offended. "That's your reaction?"
"What reaction am I supposed to have?"
"Something dramatic."
I laughed again.
