Chapter 13 - Chapter 013: Leaking Intel About Saeko Busujima?

Ruri was in an extremely excited mood right now. She had actually run into someone who knew information about her world.

If the other party could recognize her so easily, that meant she was a pretty popular character in that so-called "Oreimo" work, right?

Then she was an important character, right?

And the work was called "Oreimo." No, the real name probably wasn't that. "Oreimo" should be an abbreviation.

Anyway, it was clearly a story centered on "my little sister," which implied that the "little sister" might be the heroine.

So, the answer?

[Golden Toilet: The story is basically you people constantly getting together over novels, anime, games, and all that to flirt and bicker, and then you, as the second heroine, fight the first heroine over someone's big brother, and you kind of end up as the losing heroine.]

That was his answer. An answer so outrageous that Ruri's mouth and eyes twitched like crazy, and she almost couldn't stop herself from slamming the table again.

So, she also understood the true "theme" of Oreimo now. It was a story about a certain pair of siblings.

But then again, up to now, she hadn't fallen for anyone.

Among the women she was relatively familiar with, there didn't seem to be anyone who had an older brother.

Which only meant one thing: the plot in her world hadn't started yet.

So, with the other party's spoilers, she could flip the script, defeat that younger sister, and successfully take that older brother for herself.

Uh, wait, that wasn't right either.

Now that she had been spoiled, whatever she did next would definitely deviate from the original work, like a butterfly effect.

No, from the moment she became a member of [Hyperdimensional Channel], she had already started deviating.

In that case, was it even possible for her to meet that pair of siblings? Was it even possible for her to fall for that unknown person?

[Fallen Angel Kuroneko: What's his name?

Fallen Angel Kuroneko: Forget it, don't tell me.]

It was the same kind of irritation as getting spoiled while watching an anime, especially since the content was about herself.

And right now, there were only two people online in the channel. She really didn't want more people to know.

Uh, wait, it wasn't two.

There were three online. The other one was that A2, who had been silent the whole time.

And if others were offline, you couldn't see them through the member list. Only when they were online would they appear.

So how many members this [Hyperdimensional Channel] actually had was impossible to confirm.

As for whether there was someone in charge, like an owner or administrator?

None had appeared.

[Fallen Angel Kuroneko: Um, I should still ask… nothing like a world-ending crisis has happened in my world, right?]

Just because it was a slice-of-life romance series didn't mean the world was truly peaceful. There could still be sudden accidents that threatened the world.

It was just that in a series like that, events like this would be stopped in a dramatic way, and because the presentation was light, cheerful, and funny, it made people feel like there was no real sense of danger.

But now, Ruri had already broken away from the original track, right? Deviations had already happened.

Then she had no idea whether this butterfly storm would affect those sudden events and turn them into a real tragedy. That would be awful.

[Golden Toilet: Probably not. With the style of your novel series, there won't be any kind of abrupt plot like that. But in the end, a novel can't possibly reveal the full intelligence of a real world. Even by the ending it didn't fill out your entire life. I think it only went up to when you were in high school, so what I said is best treated as reference only.]

That was his reply, and it did remind Ruri of something important again.

She had thought about this kind of situation before, so she couldn't celebrate too early.

But based on what he said, the story timeline reached high school, which meant that at least up until she entered high school, things should be fine.

[Fallen Angel Kuroneko: That's good. Someone like Ms. Busujima might be in trouble, though.

Golden Toilet: Ms. Busujima?

Fallen Angel Kuroneko: Yeah, she's also a member in this channel.

Golden Toilet: A channel member? Huh? Just the three of us? Ms. Busujima is dead?

Fallen Angel Kuroneko: No.]

Ruri explained to him that the member list display was weird and only showed people who were online.

[Fallen Angel Kuroneko: In Ms. Busujima's world, based on the manga plot I've seen, a biohazard is probably going to happen very soon.

Golden Toilet: Biohazard? Zombies? Ms. Busujima? Why does that feel kind of familiar…]

Huh? That made Ruri freeze. Did he also have intel about Ms. Busujima?

[Golden Toilet: Kuroneko, is her full name Saeko Busujima?

Fallen Angel Kuroneko: Uh…

Fallen Angel Kuroneko: How do you know? Y-you have a work over there that includes her too?

Golden Toilet: You bet. That work basically created a classic scene—the "breast-jiggle bullet dodge." It left way too strong an impression.]

That rather emotional answer made Ruri's mouth twitch slightly.

Also, for the record, the text people posted didn't look cold and uniform. The lettering would shift a bit with the sender's tone and mood, so you could tell what state of mind they were in when they posted, kind of like using emoticons to show how they felt.

[Fallen Angel Kuroneko: My side only has three chapters so far, and I haven't seen anything like that. That means the plot direction you know is further along than mine. Then do you know the reason the biohazard happens? If we know, maybe we can stop it in advance.

Golden Toilet: Sorry, I don't know that. The anime never mentioned it, and the manga didn't either. And it only got to around twenty or thirty chapters before it got axed because the author died.

Fallen Angel Kuroneko: Uh… no way.]

But the author on her side was still alive. Should she go ask him?

Then again, if she contacted the author, would it affect his creative thinking and cause the later plot he drew to diverge from what he had told her?

At that point, which version was she supposed to use as reference?

So contacting the author was also a big problem.

Also, would the author from the other party's world look exactly like the author in her world?

[Golden Toilet: Oh right, maybe you can find the answer from another work. It's another artist's work that was co-created with the original author, and the plot seems connected. The art style is exactly the same too, so it might be the same world.

Fallen Angel Kuroneko: Then what is it called, exactly?

Golden Toilet: I don't really remember. Let me think. See if you can find a special organization—what was it called… I'm thinking…

Golden Toilet: Right, it's called Black Label. It's a secret organization that executes criminals the law can't punish. And its enemy organization, much later in the plot, triggers a biohazard-like incident.

A2: Someone's tracking us.

Golden Toilet: Sorry, something's happening on my end. I'm going offline for now.]

Huh? Before Ruri could say anything, he really went offline.

What was going on?

Were those two together? Didn't he just say he hadn't met A2 yet?

Oh, right—he said they were communicating by radio. Something had happened, and A2 spoke directly through this channel to him.

So now, she needed to tell Ms. Busujima what he'd said, and hope Ms. Busujima would come online soon.

Also, that other work he mentioned might exist in her world too.

She needed to immediately search for people related to that manga and see if she could dig it up.

This was about the safety of another living, breathing world.
