The following morning, when everyone stirred. April felt some tension in the air as she stepped out of the bedroom with Willie. The previous night, Flynn had warned them not to give out any sign or behavior that would give Jay any reason to think they knew something. They had come up with two plans; a fool-proof plan for Jay, and an original plan.
Jay's wife and kids were at the dining having breakfast already, and April found the sweet smelling aroma of their food alluring. They were having truffle omelette with sourdough toast and micro greens. Nancy beckoned on Willie. "Come on, sweetheart. Come and have a table. You can't wait till the adult meal is ready." she called.
Willie suddenly felt shy, especially on seeing the girls. He looked back at April and Kyle for approval, before meekly accepting the invitation.
Jay descended down the stairs, looking fresh and innocent. He looked at them with a puzzled expression.
"What?" Kyle asked blandly.
