Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: USJ PART 1

The air inside the USJ felt static. While the rest of Class 1-A stood frozen in a state of disbelief—trying to reconcile a school field trip with the sudden appearance of an army—Kazama Takeru was already moving.

Behind him, he heard the roar of Iida's engines as the boy sped toward the massive exit doors, looking like a blue streak of light. The class watched as he reached the threshold; the heavy doors creaked open just enough for him to slip through. Everyone felt a sudden breath of hope. Reinforcements were coming. They just had to survive until the Symbol of Peace arrived.

Kazama reached the front of the group, his eyes locked on the fountain.

"Get back, and stay together!" Aizawa shouted to Kazama, his voice gravelly and firm. "Thirteen, protect the students!"

Aizawa didn't wait another second. He dove headfirst into the herd of villains. He used his binding cloth to wrap around the thugs, neutralizing them one by one with a predatory efficiency. Watching from a distance, Kazama couldn't help but feel awed. Seeing a Pro-Hero fight in person was worlds apart from seeing it on a screen.

But the villains weren't going to make it easy. Kurogiri arrived like a ghost, his purple mist surging as he manifested directly in front of the group, blocking their path. He began to introduce himself with a cold, formal politeness as the mist spread toward the students.

"Greetings. We are the League of Villains. Forgive our audacity, but... today, we've come here to U.A. High School—this bastion of heroism... to end the life... of All Might, the—"

As the purple mist surged upward, intending to envelop the students and scatter them across the various zones, Kazama slammed his hands together.

"Aether Resonance: Harmonic Wave!"

He projected a high-frequency vibration into the very molecules of the air. The purple mist, the physical manifestation of Kurogiri's warp gate, hit an invisible wall of vibrating blue light. The mist began to ripple violently, unable to maintain its form against the energy interference.

"What is this?!" Kurogiri's voice echoed from within the fog, sounding distorted. "My warp... it's being destabilized!"

"I don't have time for all that bullshit" Kazama spat. He had been waiting for this moment. He couldn't let the class be disbanded and scattered; he wasn't 100% sure things would go the same way as the original story if they were separated. He had to stop the warp before the ambush could truly begin.

He moved. To the students, he was a blue blur. To Kurogiri, he was an inescapable force of nature. Kazama closed the distance in a fraction of a second, his fist glowing with concentrated energy that expanded into a massive, shimmering gauntlet.

"Aether Smash!"

Kazama's fist connected with the metal neck brace—Kurogiri's only physical weakness. The impact didn't just make a sound; it sent a shockwave through the concrete plaza.

BOOM.

The ground beneath the mist villain shattered. But Kazama wasn't done. He used the recoil of the first hit to rotate his body, driving a second, even more powerful strike into the same spot.

Then a third.

And a fourth.

Each hit sounded like a cannon blast. By the fifth strike, a massive crater had formed in the reinforced concrete. The metal guard around Kurogiri's neck was crumpled and dented, the physical body of the villain finally sagging as his consciousness flickered out. The swirling purple fog dissipated instantly, revealing the unconscious, lanky form of the man beneath the mist.

Without a second's hesitation, Kazama gestured, and the blue energy from his suit flowed outward, forming a shimmering, translucent dome over the fallen warp-gate.

"The mist guy is neutralized!" Kazama yelled, his green eyes scanning the plaza. "I've trapped him in a high-frequency barrier! If he tries to warp, the vibration will tear his mist apart!"

The plan had been for Kurogiri to scatter the students and then bring the elite villains to them. With him down, the strategy was in shambles.

The plaza went silent. Down at the fountain, Tomura Shigaraki froze. He had been waiting for Kurogiri to scatter the "brats" so he could enjoy the show, but instead, his most vital piece had been taken off the board in less than ten seconds.

"Go!! Kill the brats! What are you looking at?!" Shigaraki barked at the remaining thugs.

The villains began to surge toward the stairs, but Aizawa was in the way, a one-man wall of erasure and combat. Shigaraki's hands began to shake with a violent, manic energy. He didn't go for Aizawa. Instead, he turned and began to sprint up the stairs toward the students, his gait awkward and predatory.

"Cheater... cheater... cheater!" Shigaraki hissed, his voice reaching a fever pitch as he began to frantically scratch at his neck, drawing blood. "That brat... he's a cheat character! He's breaking the game! That's not how the opening cinematic is supposed to go!"

He ignored the thugs. He ignored the teachers. His red eyes were locked onto Kazama with a localized, obsessive hatred. "I'll decay you... I'll turn you to dust and restart the level!"

Thirteen stepped forward, finger-caps opening. "Stay back, villain!"

As Shigaraki lunged, Thirteen activated their Quirk. A swirling vortex of infinite gravity erupted. "Black Hole!"

Shigaraki skidded to a halt, the sheer force of the suction pulling at his clothes and the hands attached to his body. He snarled, realizing he couldn't reach Kazama through the gravitational well. "Tch!! So annoying! The NPCs are getting in the way!"

He pivoted with animalistic speed. If he couldn't kill the "Cheat Character" yet, he would go back to the original plan. He needed to clear the field for his boss monster. Shigaraki leaped over the railing, diving back toward the plaza where Aizawa was being swamped by villains. He would kill Aizawa; surely the brats would come down to save him.

Kazama saw the movement. He saw Shigaraki's hand reaching out for Aizawa's elbow, intending to crumble the teacher's arm into dust.

"Sensei, look out!"

Kazama didn't have time to run down. He absorbed the ambient energy around him and reached deep into his reserve, feeling the burning sensation of his capacity reaching its limit. He threw both hands forward, palms open.

"Aether Torrent: Sky Burial!"

A massive, horizontal wave of blue energy erupted from his hands. It didn't just hit the villains; it acted as a giant, glowing force of nature. The torrent swept across the plaza, enveloping the mob of thugs in a vibrating field of kinetic pressure. The villains were lifted off their feet, pulled fifteen feet into the air by the updraft of the energy wave, before the Aether slammed them back down into the hard concrete in a tangled heap. While a few with durability quirks weren't hurt much, the vast majority were left broken and unconscious.

The plaza was suddenly clear.

Aizawa took the opening. He didn't know how the kid had done it, but he wasn't going to waste the chance. His hair floated upward, his eyes glowing a fierce red. Shigaraki, caught mid-lunge, felt his Quirk vanish.

"Got you," Aizawa growled. He lunged forward, his capture scarf wrapping around Shigaraki's waist and arms with the precision of a viper. He slammed the villain into the ground, pinning his hands away from his body.

"It's over," Aizawa said, his voice cold. "Your warp is gone, your army is down, and your Quirk is erased."

Shigaraki lay in the dirt, his face pressed against the stone. He looked up at the stairs, staring at Kazama, then back at Aizawa. A jagged, terrifying grin spread across his cracked lips.

"Over? No... the game is just getting interesting." Shigaraki's voice was a dry rasp. "I told you, didn't I? We are here to kill All Might. This is the Anti-Symbol of Peace. He doesn't need a Quirk to win."

He tilted his head back and shrieked, "NOMU! KILL THE ERASER!"

In an instant, the air seemed to vanish. The Nomu, which had been standing motionless in the plaza, moved.

A shadow fell over Aizawa. The massive, bird-like creature vanished from its spot. It didn't move; it teleported through sheer, raw speed. Before Aizawa could even blink, a fist the size of a boulder slammed into his side.

The sound was sickening—the sound of ribs snapping and air being forced out of lungs. Aizawa was sent flying across the plaza like a ragdoll, smashing through a stone pillar before tumbling into the water of the fountain.

The Nomu stood where the teacher had been, its exposed brain pulsing, its dead eyes fixed on the students at the top of the stairs. Kazama felt his heart hammer against his ribs. The power level had just shifted from "Villain Attack" to "Catastrophe."

"Aizawa-sensei!" Midoriya screamed.

Kazama stepped to the edge of the crater he had made. The remaining villains, seeing Aizawa down, began to surge toward the students again.

"Get back," Thirteen said, her voice trembling not with fear, but with resolve. "Everyone... get as far back as you can. Iida will be back with help soon... we just have to hold."

As the villains surrounded them, Thirteen couldn't unleash a full Black Hole everywhere—it would hurt the students—so she took one side while the others started to fight for their lives.

"Yaoyorozu! Create shields! We need a perimeter!" Kazama shouted.

Momo's hands moved pulling heavy, reinforced alloy shields from her skin and passing them to the front-line students. "Sato, Kirishima, take these! Use them to funnel them toward the center!"

The first wave of villains reached the top of the stairs. A man with rock-like skin lunged at Ashido, but a sudden flash of orange light intercepted him.

"STAY BACK!" Bakugo roared, a massive explosion erupting from his palm. The blast sent the villain skiddling back. Bakugo's eyes were feral. "I'm sick of watching! If they want a fight, I'll give them a funeral!"

To his right, Kirishima slammed his hardened fists. "Right behind you, Bakugo!" A villain with elongated claws tried to swipe at Kirishima's chest, but the boy didn't even flinch. The claws scraped against his hardened skin like dull plastic. Kirishima countered with a heavy right hook that sent the villain sprawling back down the stairs.

In the center of the formation, Denki Kaminari looked terrified, but he held his ground. "They're coming from the left, too!"

"I've got it!" Jiro shouted. She plugged her earphone jacks into the amplifiers on her boots and slammed them into the ground. "Heartbeat Distortion!" A powerful sonic boom rippled through the floor. Two thugs clutched their ears in agony as the sound waves threw off their equilibrium, making them easy targets for Sero, who immediately bound them in thick layers of tape.

"Keep it up, everyone!" Midoriya cheered, though his eyes were constantly darting back to the fountain where Aizawa lay still.

Aizawa looked like his arm and legs were broken.

A villain was attacking behind, likely a fire type quirk.

Todoroki didn't even turn around. He stomped his foot, and a jagged wall of ice erupted behind him, instantly flash-freezing three villains who had tried to sneak up on the group from the Landslide Zone side. "Too slow".

Despite their efforts, the number of villains was overwhelming. For every five they knocked down, ten more seemed to climb the stairs.

Two villains with wind and fire quirks created a fire storm, which was spreading rapidly.

"I Got It" Kazama shouted, extending a hand. he used his quirk to suck the thermal energy of the fire, until it was nothing more than a warm breeze.

"Nice save, Prez!" Sero yelled, launching a fresh strand of tape to snag a flying villain out of the air.

All this happed in the span of 3 minutes.

While the class held the line, Shigaraki watched with growing impatience. His eyes were bloodshot, and he pointed a shaking finger at the top of the stairs. He wanted the core of the problem removed.

"N-Nomu. Kill the brats. Start with the one in the blue suit."

The Nomu crouched, the ground cracking under its feet as it prepared to launch. The air around it seemed to distort from the sheer pressure of its physical power.

Kazama stood his ground.

"Hold the line, Class 1-A!" Kazama commanded, his voice echoing through the dome. "The heroes are coming!"

The Nomu launched.
