Season 3 – Chapter 7: Global Gates – Chaos Unleashed
The sky burned crimson. Multiple gates hovered over the city, each one spewing monsters of every size and shape. From massive Leviathans to winged horrors with jagged claws, the streets were a river of chaos. Fires raged, alarms screamed, and buildings trembled under the weight of destruction.
Kai moved through the streets like a shadow of death. Amber eyes scanning, tendrils twitching, sparks of neon-blue crackling along his veins. Machines responded instantly to his will—cranes swiveled, cars spun into motion, drones hovered, weapons whirred. The city was alive, and every object obeyed him.
"Over here!" shouted one of the hunter allies, waving frantically from a partially collapsed rooftop. "We can't hold them all!"
Kai's lips curled into a smirk. "Of course you can't. That's why I'm here." His voice was calm, predatory. Tendrils lashed around a flipped car, sending it spinning toward a charging Leviathan.
A hunter swung their energy sword at a monster, struggling to land a decisive strike. "Kai… don't underestimate them! These gates are merging—this is worse than anything we've faced!"
Kai glanced at him, eyes narrowing. "I don't underestimate. I adapt. You should try it sometime."
From the largest gate, a hulking Omega Parasite emerged, its body fused with steel-like armor. "So many… tiny humans," it growled, voice echoing like grinding metal. "And one… predator." Its glowing eyes locked onto Kai.
Kai smirked, veins glowing. "Finally… someone who can keep me entertained." He raised his hands, and the city responded. Drones swarmed, cranes swung, vehicles twisted into blades, and streetlights slammed downward—all controlled by his Mechanic Manipulation, perfectly synchronized with parasite fusion.
Violet Fang X landed beside him, tendrils flaring. "You're getting cocky, Boogeyman," she said, eyes scanning the monsters. "Don't think you can control everything."
Kai's lips curled. "Watch me." He flicked a hand. A crane swung like a pendulum, smashing the Omega Parasite into the ground, sending shards of concrete and metal flying. "Machines, tendrils, everything… obey!"
The Omega roared, swinging multiple limbs at once. "Impossible… you adapt too fast!"
Kai laughed softly, almost enjoying the chaos. "Adaptation is the only way to survive," he said. "You should try it sometime." His tendrils merged with nearby vehicles, spinning them like bladed whips, slicing through monsters with precision.
One hunter called out, "Kai! The gates… they're merging—more monsters are coming from the east!"
Kai's amber eyes glowed brighter. "Then let them come." He pivoted, sending drones and debris in a perfect wave of attack, each strike calculated, each motion feeding the parasite, leveling him up mid-battle. The fusion of machine and parasite surged stronger than ever.
Violet Fang X grinned. "Not bad… maybe you've finally earned the title."
Kai smirked. "Earned it? I don't need titles. I am the predator this world fears."
The gates pulsed crimson, more monsters pouring in. Kai stepped forward, tendrils coiling, drones buzzing, cranes swinging, vehicles twisting. The city itself was his weapon. The apocalypse had begun—and he was the apex predator in the storm.
