Chapter 6 - The down-and-out academy

Ernst College is the shortest magic academy in the history of the Kingdom of Finlay.

Ernst College is located in a mountainous area about 20 miles south of the capital city of Finlay, covering an extremely wide area of nearly ten miles, almost comparable to a city.

However, Ernst College has only been established for a few years, and the recruitment of students is extremely strict. Students must be at the highest level in both elemental affinity and spiritual strength in order to be admitted to Ernst College. Therefore, in the years since its establishment, the number of students at Ernst College has only been one hundred.

When Baruch bid farewell to his father Horry and stepped into Ernst College, he couldn't help but furrow his brow with joy. Ernst College had no service venues such as restaurants, clothing stores, bars, and no people in sight. The only thing that appeared in his sight was the endless forest and occasionally a few buildings. As for the gate, it was even narrower, only allowing two people to pass by at the same time.

This is the first magic academy in the Jade Orchid Continent five thousand years later? Isn't it said that Ernst Academy was established by the Pope of Light and has huge support from the Holy See? Why is it so desolate! "Baruch couldn't think that Ernst Academy was too desolate. Perhaps the lowest magic academy in the Kingdom of Finlay was more high-end and prestigious than Ernst Academy.

From entering the range of Ernst College until now, the people Baruch saw were actually the guards at the gate - two old men! He didn't even see anyone else.

Moreover, Baruch noticed a magical rabbit running out of the grass not far away. The rabbit was snow-white without any color, probably the size of two Earth rabbits, cute and adorable. The rabbit looked at Baruch carefully and soon realized that Baruch had no ill intentions towards him. It smiled and emitted a beam of light at Baruch.

Level 1 Light Magic - Blessing!

What a cute magic rabbit! "Baruch found it interesting that the relationship between humans and monsters is not good. Either monsters become humans' pets or humans become their food. He had never seen a weak monster fearless of humans.

Little one, come with me from now on! "Baruch walked up to the magic rabbit, picked it up, touched its snow-white fur, and whispered," I won't be too lonely or bored with you accompanying me to practice at Ernst College

Now Baruch is a level six warrior, not far from a level seven warrior, but his magic cannot even be considered an entry-level skill. He must start learning from scratch, starting with basic theories.

Although his elemental affinity is superior and his spiritual power is superior, it is not something that can be achieved in just one or two years to reach level seven magic.

Of course, his affinity for elements is superior, and his spiritual power is superior, which means that his cultivation speed is several times faster than other students.

According to the old man's words just now, I only need to walk this way to reach the dormitory area. As long as I show my identification, the person in charge of the dormitory area will arrange a dormitory for me. "Baruch continued walking with the magic rabbit in his arms. He had conducted another magic test at the entrance and had confirmed his identity, so he was now going to the dormitory area.

Baruch walked for six miles until he saw a few houses, which were not very high and only had a two-story appearance. The houses were connected with a gate in the middle.

Hello, I am Baruch, a new student from the Kingdom of Finlay! "Baruch walked into the door and saw a woman in her thirties sitting in a room. The woman was wearing a magic robe and had gained some weight. Baruch took out his admission letter and ID card from his arms and handed them over to the magician.

Oh? "She looked at Baruch with confusion, took the red envelope and opened it, showing a shocked expression:" Baruch, seven years old, with extraordinary elemental affinity and spiritual power

The information on the red envelope is very clear and impactful!

Genius! "She sighed inwardly, then looked at the one next to her and said," Baruch, your dormitory is in Room 98. Here's the key to your dormitory. By the way, I forgot to tell you that Room 98 is in the last building

Thank you! "Baruch took the keys, said thank you, and left the room to walk towards the third house.

Ernst College has only a hundred students and a few mentors, so there are plenty of rooms available, with each student having their own separate room.

Baruch searched for a while before finding a room with the door marked '98'. Baruch opened it with his key and entered the room.

I saw that this room is about fifty square meters in size, with a separate bathroom inside. At the innermost side of the room is a bed, and not far from the bed is a wooden bookshelf.

This room, I'm afraid no one has cleaned it since it was built until now. "Baruch looked at the thick layer of ash on the ground, and" Magic Rabbit "Little White ran around the room, leaving deep footprints on the ground. Baruch put his luggage at the door and started cleaning the room.

An hour later, the whole room was refreshed. Although the decoration was a bit simpler, it gave people a warm feeling. Baruch smiled contentedly, threw the rag into the trash can outside, picked up the luggage left at the door, walked into the room, and put it in a stone cabinet.

Today is February 9th, and classes will start tomorrow. I don't know which teacher will teach magic, "Baruch thought as he lay in bed.

At the gatekeeper's two old men's place, Baruch knew that there were twenty teachers and one hundred and five students in the entire Ernst College, and there were ten new students in their class.

Moreover, Baruch also learned that Ernst College divides students into first to sixth grades based on their magic level. Each grade has teachers from different departments who only consider individual elemental attributes. For example, students who only have affinity for earth elements do not need to attend lectures from other department teachers.

New students start their first week studying basic theories of magic, learning meditation and practicing magic! "Baruch thought to himself. As new students enter first grade, there will be dedicated mentors teaching meditation and practice for the first week. Only after the students have developed their magical abilities can they qualify for deeper courses.

If a new student's magic has reached level two, they don't need to carry it with them in first grade anymore and can skip directly to second grade.

On this day, Baruch did not practice the Dragon Blood Secret Scripture, but went to bed very early. The next day, just after dawn, Baruch got up and washed himself. He took out a piece of dried meat from his luggage and bit it. After eating a piece of dried meat, Baruch walked out of the dormitory and headed west.

This is the classroom for first-year students! "Baruch arrived at the teaching area, found the classroom for first grade students, and walked in." Surprisingly, someone arrived earlier than me

Baruch noticed that there were already two people in the classroom, a boy who was nine years old and a blonde girl who was seven or eight years old. The blonde girl was sitting at the first table, with excitement and excitement in her eyes.

Baruch walked to the innermost table and sat down, then closed his eyes.

About twenty minutes later, the students arrived one after another. A middle-aged man with brown hair walked into the classroom, coughed and drew the students' attention to him. He said, "Hello everyone, my name is Wenger and I am your mentor. Starting today, I will teach you what magic is, how to meditate, and how to practice magic for the next week

First of all, everyone needs to know what magic is! "Wenger began his lecture." Magic is when a magician uses magical spells to make magical elements emit tremendous power in a certain order

Wenger spoke very seriously above, and Baruch listened attentively, constantly recording in his magic notes, sometimes frowning and sometimes showing a daze. However, after listening to Wenger's explanation, Baruch finally gained the simplest understanding of magic.

In fact, there is no essential difference between magicians and warriors. Warriors transform the elements of heaven and earth into fighting qi through cultivation and store it in their bodies, giving them powerful abilities. Magicians, on the other hand, use their spiritual power and magical spells as a medium to unleash their powerful abilities.

Well, now I'm going to teach everyone meditation! "Wenger paused before saying," Meditation is the foundation of magic. Whether it's absorbing elements of heaven and earth and refining them into "magical power" or improving spiritual power, meditation is necessary. So, only when you learn meditation can you cultivate magic and qualify to become a noble wizard

Wenger said, then began to teach some tips for meditation, including some areas that need attention. After ten minutes, he said, "Everyone, pay attention, close your eyes, don't think about anything else, feel it carefully

Wenger induced Baruch to follow Wenger's instructions, and within ten minutes, he entered a meditative state. He saw a large number of elements appearing in Baruch's perception, including blue, white, red, yellow, cyan, black, and purple. These seven colors of light each shone brightly, like elves in heaven and earth, active around Baruch.

Of course, the blue light spot has the most spots, which is more than twice as many as other light spots.

Sigh, what's going on? I only have affinity for water elements. How can I still feel other elements, and it seems that the affinity of other elements is at least superior? "Baruch took a deep breath in his heart." Did I travel to this world and change my original trajectory

Although Baruch has never studied magic, he knows that white dots represent light elements, red dots represent fire elements, yellow dots represent earth elements, blue dots represent water elements, cyan dots represent wind elements, black dots represent dark elements, and purple dots represent thunder elements!

Baruch originally thought that his affinity for elements was only limited to water systems, but now Baruch realizes that his affinity for elements from other lineages is also very high. That is to say, as long as he is willing, he can become a mage in the entire lineage!
