Chapter 20: The Pit of Vipers 🐍🏟️
The birth of STORM EDGE wasn't marked by a celebration, but by the realization of how small they truly were. To survive the Four Great Crews, Jisong and Yeonjun needed more than just a name—they needed a team.
1. The Information Broker's Price 🧧📲
Min-Ah appeared on the gym's rooftop as the sun began to rise. She was tossing a gold coin, her eyes scanning the horizon where the Seoul skyscrapers loomed like giants.
Min-Ah: "Storm Edge? It sounds like a brand of expensive razors. But if you want to make it stick, you need a 'Heavy.' Someone who can take a hit so Jisong doesn't have to carry every fight."
Jisong: "Where do we find someone who isn't already owned by a Crew?"
Min-Ah: "The 'Zero Sector'. It's an illegal underground fighting pit in the basement of an old shopping mall in Gangnam. There's a guy there. They call him 'The Wall'. He's won 50 fights in a row, but he refuses to join any Crew. That's why they're planning to kill him in the ring tonight."
2. Zero Sector: The Underground 🏮💀
Jisong and Yeonjun entered the mall. Beneath the abandoned luxury stores, the air turned hot and smelled of sweat and cheap beer. In the center of a makeshift cage, a massive man stood alone. He didn't use Aura; he used raw, unyielding strength.
He was Park Do-Gyu. He looked like he was carved out of granite, his body covered in scars from fights that had nothing to do with honor and everything to do with survival.
Yeonjun: "He's fighting four guys at once. And look... they're all from the Iron Fist."
Jisong: "They aren't just fighting him. They're trying to tire him out so their 'Ace' can finish him. We have to move."
3. The Intervention: Blue vs. Iron ⚡🛡️
Just as the Iron Fist fighters pulled out concealed brass knuckles to end Do-Gyu, a blue streak of light flashed across the cage. Jisong landed between Do-Gyu and his attackers, his Aura creating a visible shimmer in the dim light.
Jisong: "The match is over. He's with us now."
The Iron Fist Ace (A slim man with tattoos up his neck): "You again? The Ghost of Gurye. You're becoming a very expensive problem to ignore."
Do-Gyu (Breathing heavily, his voice deep as a landslide): "I didn't... ask for help, kid."
Jisong (Without looking back): "I'm not helping you. I'm offering you a job. One where you don't have to fight for the amusement of snakes."
The cage erupted. Yeonjun jumped in, using his Bokken to sweep the legs of two attackers, while Jisong faced the Ace. The fight was a blur of high-speed strikes. Jisong realized the Ace was using a different kind of power—External Aura, hardening his skin like iron.
4. The Third Edge 🤝🧗♂️
After a brutal three-minute brawl that left the Iron Fist squad unconscious and the crowd in a panic, the three of them stood in the rain outside the mall. Do-Gyu looked at Jisong, then at the bruised but determined Yeonjun.
Do-Gyu: "Why? Why risk your lives for a stranger?"
Jisong: "Because the 'Four Crews' think they own this city. I want to show them they don't. I need a Wall. I need someone who won't break."
Do-Gyu stayed silent for a long time. Then, he extended a hand that looked like it could crush a bowling ball.
Do-Gyu: "I don't care about your 'Storm Edge.' But I hate the Iron Fist more than I hate being poor. I'm in. But I eat a lot."
Yeonjun (Laughing): "We'll figure it out. Welcome to the crew, Do-Gyu."
5. The Counter-Move ♟️🌑
Across the city, in a penthouse overlooking the Han River, Han-Bin—the leader of the Iron Fist—watched the grainy security footage of the fight. He crushed a wine glass in his bare hand, blood mixing with the red liquid.
Han-Bin: "They're recruiting. Storm Edge is growing. Send word to the Crimson Lotus and the White Tiger Crew. We need to call a meeting of the 'Council of Four.' The Ghost needs to be exorcised before he becomes a Demon."
