Chapter 52 - Chapter Fifty-Two: The Escape That Shook the Storm

Loraine couldn't breathe.

Not because the air was thick—because the walls themselves seemed to watch her.

Jason had been… calmer today. Too calm.

She knew better. Calm was always before a storm.

Planning the Impossible

She moved quietly through the house, tracing the layout of doors, windows, and hallways. Every corner, every shadow, every guard's routine memorized.

Her phone buzzed—an old friend, someone she trusted—giving her hope.

Tonight. Tonight was the only chance.

The Moment Before

Jason came into the room as she gathered her coat.

"Where are you going?" he asked softly.

"Out," she said firmly, heart pounding.

He stepped closer, dangerously calm.

"You promised," he said, voice low, almost a whisper—but the red flare in his eyes betrayed him.

She didn't answer.

The Escape Begins

She slipped through the side door, heart hammering, legs shaking—but the adrenaline carried her.

Outside, the night air was cold but liberating. She ran.

The garden, the gates… almost free.

Then a shadow moved.

Jason Appears

"Loraine," he said, voice broken. "Stop."

Her heart froze. She knew that voice. That tone.

He emerged from the shadows, red eyes glowing faintly, every step controlled but full of lethal energy.

She tried to run again.

He was faster.

He grabbed her arm, spinning her around.

"You're mine!" he shouted. "Do you hear me? Mine!"

Tears streamed down her face.

The Confrontation

She struggled, trying to push him away.

"Why are you like this?" she screamed. "Why can't you just—"

He struck the side of her shoulder—not fully, but enough to send her stumbling.

Her body pressed against his chest. Her tears wet his suit.

"I can't lose you!" he whispered fiercely, voice cracking. "I won't survive it!"

She stared at him, terrified and furious.

"I don't love you like this!" she shouted.

Begging and Rage Collide

Jason's hands cupped her face. His lips trembled.

"Shhh… mine," he whispered. "Please… don't leave me. I beg you. I'll die if you leave me like this."

He pulled her into a close hold, desperate, violent, and trembling all at once.

Her chest heaved. She wanted to scream, to fight, to run—but the storm in his eyes froze her.

Aftermath

Hours later, inside the mansion again, she sat on the edge of the bed, trembling.

Jason stood across from her, breath ragged, chest heaving.

"I… I can't… I can't control this," he said softly. "But I will try. I promise. I swear."

She stared at him, uncertain whether to be relieved—or even more afraid.

Because for the first time, she realized: his obsession wasn't just dangerous—it was eternal.

Questions That Burn

How far will Jason go to keep her under his control?

Can Loraine truly escape when love, fear, and obsession are twisted together?
