Chapter 88 - Bonus Chapters 89: What other moves does Ishtar have?

Gilgamesh—Wise King Gilgamesh—had stunned viewers with his spirit and actions.

Night Raid Headquarters, Akame ga Kill World.

"If only our king were like him," Bulat murmured, comparing the present empire with this king who gave his life for his realm.

"...Yeah."

Not just he; even Akame sighed. Though an assassin in the shadows, she longed for such a sovereign.

When Wise King Gilgamesh shoved Fujimaru Ritsuka and said "a mere fatal wound,"

Akame couldn't help thinking that, had she been the one he saved, she would pledge her life to him.

She would become the sharpest blade to cut down any thorns blocking his kingdom.

Such is a king's charisma—or rather, a ruler's.

"With a king like that, our Village would have full bellies," Tatsumi added with a sigh.

Najenda, the boss of Night Raid, gave a slight nod, agreeing with her subordinate's words while quietly letting out a sigh.

Yes, if their king were Gilgamesh, there probably wouldn't be a Revolutionary Army or a Night Raid squad.

Unfortunately, their world was far from perfect, which is why Night Raid and the Revolutionary Army resisting the empire were born.

Naruto World, Team 7.

"So cool!!!"

Naruto blurted out exactly what he felt; he really thought this Gilgamesh was incredibly handsome.

Every move the man made perfectly matched the Hokage of Naruto's dreams.

Not only was he wise, he looked like he could fight, and—most important—everyone trusted and adored him.

Uzumaki Naruto swore he would become someone just like Wise King Gilgamesh.

After all, they both had blond hair.

"What's the use of being handsome?" Sasuke curled his lip, though an odd gleam flickered in his eyes; even he had been conquered by that move.

This was the so-called charisma of a king. Sasuke wasn't interested in the title, yet he simply found the man cool.

Boys have zero resistance to that kind of thing.

Although his heart was filled with the desire to avenge Itachi, Sasuke could still pause for a moment to admire the beauty of the world.

"So handsome!!!"

Sakura Haruno's eyes turned into hearts; she was completely won over by Wise King Gilgamesh.

No girl could withstand a scene like this.

Imagine facing a deadly danger when a handsome man appears, pushes you aside, and takes the hit himself.

The very thought made her heart race.

"Still… can one person cast such a wide-range technique?" Kakashi paid no attention to Gilgamesh protecting Fujimaru Ritsuka; what intrigued him was…

Gilgamesh had single-handedly launched an attack rivaling the Shinobi Allied Forces—simply astonishing.

Kakashi was a Jonin who had survived large-scale battles; his combat experience was vast.

In the previous two Ninja World Wars, although he had mainly fought as a deep-strike blade behind enemy lines, he had also seen frontline combat.

He had once watched dozens of Chunin and Jonin from Iwagakure simultaneously cast Earth Release, an earth-shattering scene.

That had been one of the most awe-inspiring sights on any battlefield.

Yet it couldn't compare to the attack Wise King Gilgamesh had just unleashed in the video.

Kakashi roughly calculated that even three mountains wouldn't survive the first wave of that bombardment.

And Gilgamesh had fired more than one wave; such intense saturation shelling was terrifying.

Against Tiamat it might not look like much,

but on a true battlefield it would be a weapon of mass destruction.

Under that fire, whether you were Genin, Chunin, or Jonin, without an extremely powerful defensive Ninjutsu you were equal—equally dead.

"I'm watching a video and I've unconsciously started thinking about war," Kakashi muttered, rubbing his temples.

The video continued.

Wise King Gilgamesh kept up the barrage to stop Tiamat's advance, but the flying Lahmu were far faster than she was.

Plenty were shot down, yet Gilgamesh's main target was still Tiamat;

the Lahmu were only collateral.

So Dr. Roman of Chaldea shouted, "Confirmed: large numbers of Lahmu are arriving ahead of Tiamat!"

The camera shifted; Ishtar, airborne, was firing magical bullets in rapid succession to wipe out the oncoming Lahmu.

She could kill one Lahmu per shot, but there were simply too many; she couldn't bring them all down.

"No good, there are too many—at this rate…"

Ishtar hesitated—then several booming crashes rang out as Lahmu slammed into the building where Wise King Gilgamesh and Fujimaru Ritsuka stood.

The terrifying impact didn't topple the structure but dealt considerable damage.

"Hey!! Isn't that no different from a siege engine?!" Ishtar exclaimed.

The Lahmu banked in mid-air, clearly preparing another strike.

"Those things are going to ram it again!"

Seeing this, Ishtar had no intention of letting them.

She knew how vital Gilgamesh was: if he died, Uruk was finished—and the treasure he had promised her…

could vanish with him.

"Fine, then!" Ishtar steeled herself; with a wave of her hand she declared, "The mana I saved to cast Mother into the underworld—I'll release it here!"

The moment she spoke, the bow-shaped 'vehicle' appeared beside her.

In the next instant, golden portals blossomed behind Ishtar.

Viewers of the video blinked in surprise—could this goddess who had sobbed while hugging a stone tablet reading 'I'm a useless goddess'…

still have a hidden ace?

Except… those golden portals looked familiar.

"Eh?!"

Quickly, Ishtar seemed to realize something; she turned, stared at the golden rings behind her, and looked genuinely shocked—

as if she had no idea where they had come from.
