Two days.
Maya had been gone for two days and Eve had counted every hour of it from the same spot on the bed....back against the headboard, knees pulled to her chest, eyes on the window. The estate grounds looked the same as they always had. Green and manicured and completely unbothered by the fact that Maya wasn't in it anymore.
She'd stopped finding that strange sometime around hour thirty.
The food on the nightstand had gone cold. Damian had brought it up himself and asked her to eat. She'd looked at the plate. Told him she wasn't hungry. He'd sat with her for an hour, not pushing, and then eventually he'd had to leave because the pack needed him and the world didn't stop for grief, and the food had sat there getting cold until Elena quietly removed it sometime later.
That had been this morning.
