Eve wanted to argue, but exhaustion was pulling at her. She let her eyes drift closed, surrounded by warmth and safety and absolute love.
"Thank you," she murmured.
"For what?" Damian asked.
"For this. For making me forget to be nervous about tomorrow. For loving me so completely."
"Always," Silas said quietly. "That's what we're here for."
Eve smiled and let sleep claim her.

She woke hours later to movement beside her.
The room was dark, the moon casting silver light through the windows. Eve turned her head to find Silas propped up on one elbow, watching her with an expression she couldn't quite read.
"Can't sleep?" she asked quietly.
"Just thinking." His hand found hers, fingers intertwining. "About tomorrow. About you going back to the Court."
"Nervous?"
