Eve set down her coffee and read through the petition carefully. The complaints were vague but pointed...accusations of overreach, concerns about "precedent," questions about whether the Queen's authority should be absolute.
"Another one," Damian said, reading over her shoulder. His jaw tightened. "They're not going to stop."
"No," Eve agreed. "They're going to keep testing until I make it clear that the testing is over."
"What are you thinking?" Silas asked.
"I'm thinking it's time to show them exactly what happens when you push too hard." Eve set the petition down. "Schedule an emergency Conclave session. In-person. Court chambers. And invite every faction leader. I want this witnessed."
Damon's expression turned feral. "You're going to make an example."
"I'm going to end this. Permanently."
