The week that followed was somehow both peaceful and electric with anticipation.
The Court was stable. Faction leaders had stopped filing complaints. The reform was proceeding smoothly. Pack life had settled into a comfortable rhythm of duties and moments stolen between responsibilities.
Eve found herself in the strange position of having space. Real space. Time that wasn't consumed by political crisis or pack emergency or supernatural drama.
She spent the mornings in pack meetings with Brynn, working through applicant reviews, addressing small territorial disputes, strengthening the Luna framework. The work was fulfilling in ways she hadn't expected. Helping pack members find solutions, watching hierarchies stabilize, seeing community strengthen.
The afternoons were sometimes hers. Sometimes she'd join the training yard, sometimes she'd read in the library, sometimes she'd just exist without agenda.
And the nights....the nights were for her mates.
But something was changing.
