Chapter 133 - Chapter 133: Nine-Tails Attack, Konoha's Grief

Konoha Year 51, early winter. A biting chill had quietly descended upon the Land of Fire, yet Konohagakure remained immersed in the fragile peace of its post-war recovery. The new policies and the vibrant energy brought by the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, were like warm sunlight, gradually dispelling the gloom of the Third Great Ninja War. People looked forward to a future of stability, completely unaware that an unprecedented calamity was approaching in the cruelest way imaginable.

That night, the stars were sparse, and a faint, ominous blood-red hue seeped through the sky.

Without warning, a terrifying roar, loud enough to tear at the very soul, exploded above Konoha! The sound, filled with endless hatred and a desire for absolute destruction, instantly shattered the village's peace. The villagers rushed from their homes, met with a sight that looked like a scene from the apocalypse.

An unimaginably huge Demonic Fox, brandishing nine massive, mountain-like tails, was rampaging through the streets. Its entire body was enveloped in solidified, blood-red chakra, an aura of pure malice so powerful it made the air heavy and nauseous. A single swipe of its tail leveled entire city blocks; a single claw strike left ravines in the earth that reached the bedrock.

"The Nine-Tails! The seal has been breached!" "Help! Save the children!"

Panic spread like wildfire. Konoha's response was swift, but desperate. Large numbers of ninja rushed toward the beast, disregarding their lives to buy seconds for the evacuation. However, their Ninjutsu and exploding tags felt like insignificant pinpricks against the Nine-Tails' absolute power.

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the retired Third Hokage, donned his battle armor once more. He led the Jonin of the major clans in a desperate resistance, but even the legendary Ino–Shika–Chō trio found their techniques instantly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the beast's chakra. The Hyūga's Byakugan could see the chakra points, but there was no way to channel enough force to shut them down. The Uchiha's fire was swallowed by the beast's aura.

Just as the village center faced total obliteration, a golden flash pierced the darkness.

Minato Namikaze had arrived. His Flying Thunder God Technique was executed at speeds that defied human limits, saving dying comrades in the nick of time. But behind the disaster lay a pair of Sharingan, a hidden mastermind who had seized control of the beast. To protect his newborn son, his wife Kushina, and the village's very future, Minato made a terminal decision.

When dawn finally broke, the Nine-Tails was gone, but the cost was an irreparable loss. The news pierced the heart of every survivor: To seal the fox, the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze... had sacrificed his life. The sun of the new era had fallen just as it reached its zenith.

Hidden Sand Village, Kazekage's Office

The report reached the desert within hours, carried by a high-speed encrypted messenger. Fourth Kazekage Rasa abruptly stood up, his face filled with profound shock. As he confirmed the death of Minato Namikaze, the shock transformed into a complex, cold calculation.

To Rasa, Minato was the "Sharpest Spear" of the Leaf, the reason Suna had been forced to sign the humiliating Kikyō Mountain treaty. Now, that spear was broken.

"This... this might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Rasa whispered, his fingers tapping the desk in a rhythmic, predatory pattern. "Konoha's defenses are down. Their new leader is dead, and the old one is past his prime. The internal turmoil will be massive."

Inside the office, Baki and other high-ranking officials of the war faction showed similar expressions of hunger.

"We can invade the Land of Fire in one fell swoop!" Baki argued, his voice low and urgent. "Reclaim our territory, cancel the indemnity payments, and wash away the shame of Kikyō Mountain with Konoha's blood! With Sayo's Gundam and Pakura's Scorch Release, we have the superior military power now!"

The clouds of war, which had only just dispersed, were gathering once again in the desert.

Sayo's Perspective

Sayo sat in the corner of the room, his eyes half-closed as he monitored the tension in the air. To his engineering mind, Rasa's ambition was a cycle of strategic futility.

Minato is dead. The "Yellow Flash" is gone, Sayo thought, his hand resting on the Chrono-Furnace on his wrist. But Konoha is not a single target; it's a resilient, tight-knit community. Attacking them now would trigger an all-out war response from a cornered beast. The drain on our resources would be catastrophic for my terraforming projects.

He looked at the map on the wall. He saw the "opportunity" Rasa saw, but he also saw the cost, the loss of the reparation gold he was currently using to build the village's first industrial pumps. If they went to war, every piece of metal he had scavenged from the Mist would be melted back into kunai.

"Lord Kazekage," Sayo's calm, clinical voice cut through the heated debate of the war faction. "Before we embark on a path of vengeance, we must calculate the true cost. Is a bloody war with a wounded Leaf truly more valuable than the 'Genesis' we've already begun?"

Rasa turned to his son, his eyes flickering with the old ambition. The office fell silent. The choice was clear: use their new power to destroy their old enemy, or use it to build a future where the enemy no longer mattered.

The Nine-Tails attack hadn't just brought grief to Konoha; it had thrown a massive variable into the world's peace, and the Hidden Sand was the first to decide if they would exploit the tragedy or transcend it.
