Deep inside the massive desert crater, the dust had yet to settle, hanging in the scorched air like a thick, golden-black shroud. The fierce duel between Fourth Kazekage Rasa and the Magnet Release Architect Sayo had dragged on for hours, pushing the physical limits of both men to their absolute thresholds. They stood facing each other across a hundred-meter void of glass-like sand, their ragged breathing the only sound cutting through the sudden, heavy silence.
Rasa hovered in mid-air, the golden dust still swirling in defensive orbits around him, but his control was flickering. Beads of sweat dotted his temples, and his breathing had turned coarse and shallow. Unleashing high-intensity Magnet Release in such rapid succession, especially that final massive cube had devoured enormous amounts of his chakra and stamina. Even a Kage in his prime couldn't maintain such a peak state of combat indefinitely.
His eyes were locked on Sayo, a growing suspicion rising within his mind. Does this boy possess limitless chakra? Why, after such a prolonged fight, does his aura grow sharper instead of weaker?
Sayo, standing on the battered, heat-scarred shoulder of the Gundam, looked pale from the sheer mental strain of his neural link, yet his gaze grew brighter with every passing second. His breathing was steady, as though an invisible spring inside him were endlessly replenishing his reserves. It was the terrifying advantage of the Chrono-Furnace on his wrist, which was constantly drawing in Natural Energy and converting it into purified chakra to nourish his cells.
"I can't drag this out any longer," Rasa thought, his tactical instincts screaming a warning. A war of attrition favored the youth with the mysterious regeneration. He slammed his palms together, preparing to muster a final, all-or-nothing strike to re-establish his authority.
Sayo saw the move and realized he had reached a crossroads. A mere stalemate would never sway the Kazekage's rigid pride. To avert the war he believed would lead to Sunagakure's ruin, he needed to display a power that was undeniable. He needed a decisive victory.
In that moment of decision, an audacious, almost insane idea flashed through Sayo's mind.
Natural Energy.
He had worn the cultivation furnace for years and could sense the wild, powerful flow of Natural Energy in the atmosphere. He had never attempted to master a personal Sage Mode because the risk of the energy overwhelming a human mind was too high. But he wasn't thinking of absorbing it into his own body.
He was thinking of channeling it.
What if... through our mental link, I guide the raw Natural Energy into the God-Tree Core inside the Gundam? Let the machine's chassis act as the lightning rod. Let the core stabilize and refine the energy, and then... let the puppet execute a Sage Art.
The very thought made his heart rate spike. The Gundam was a machine; it had no organic pathways to burst under the pressure. And the core, fashioned from a fragment of the Divine Tree was the perfect vessel for the energy of the world.
Sayo snapped his eyes shut, sinking his entire consciousness into the machine. He pushed his mental focus to its limit, his willpower surging like invisible threads through the chakra lines, pouring into the green-glowing core in the Gundam's chest.
"Resonate! Harmonize! Align!" Sayo commanded in his mind.
He abandoned the fine control of his own chakra and instead used it as a primer, acting as a catalyst to capture and tame the berserk energy in the surrounding desert. At this moment, Sayo became a bridge, forcing through an unprecedented experiment in power.
The Gundam's seventeen-meter frame shook violently, the silver-blue armor plates groaning under the sudden surge of power. The core in its chest erupted with a brilliance never seen before, a green light so intense it bled through the gaps in the armor, dyeing the entire crater in an eerie hue.
"What is he doing?!" Startled by the anomaly, Rasa halted his hand seals, a primal sense of unease rising within him.
In the next instant, the transformation reached its peak.
Countless profound, complex patterns of dark-blue light began surfacing across the Gundam's cold metallic skin. These weren't carved markings; they were sigils etched by a highly condensed mixture of Natural Energy and chakra. They coated the giant's body like a sacred, glowing shroud. A mountain-shaking pressure burst from the machine, causing the very space around it to distort.
Sayo's eyes snapped open, similar glowing patterns flashed across his irises before settling into a deep, focused blue.
"This is not the Sage Mode of a man," Sayo's voice echoed, amplified by the machine. "This is the Sage Art of a puppet. This state shall be known as the Awakened Titan."
Without hesitation, Sayo raised the Gundam's giant arm, now laced with glowing blue lines, aiming at the sea of sand and at the Kage hovering in the air. This time, he wasn't wielding simple chakra. He was wielding energy at a planetary scale.
"Sage Art - Magnet Release: Pulse of the Earth!"
An invisible, boundless magnetic wave spread outward from the Gundam's palm, rippling across the battlefield. Under this Sage Art, Rasa was horrified to find his connection to the Gold Dust slipping away instantly. His own magnetism felt like a guttering candle compared to the sun. The gold dust simply stopped responding to his will, leaning instead toward the deeper, more primal call of the earth's own magnetism that Sayo was now channeling.
"No! Impossible! My control... it's being usurped?!" Rasa cried out, disbelief and stark fear flitting across his face.
In the instant his composure cracked, the Gundam's rune-covered hand clenched in mid-air.
"Sage Art - Magnet Release: Absolute Dominion!"
The ground itself seemed to awaken. Countless grains of Iron Sand, and even metallic ores buried miles beneath the dunes, burst forth like subjects answering a king's call. They gathered into a black torrent vast enough to swallow the horizon. The flood effortlessly scattered Rasa's uncontrolled gold dust, coiling like a black dragon to ensnare, seal, and imprison the stunned Kazekage mid-air.
The powerful magnetic field didn't just bind Rasa's body; it acted as a total suppression, severing his link to any external sand.
Rasa struggled with all his might, but he was pinned by a force that felt like the planet itself was holding him down. He stared blankly at the steel titan wrapped in glowing Sage patterns, it looked like a deity of magnetism descended to judge him. Then he looked at the black-haired youth atop its shoulder, who breathed with the rhythm of the world.
An unprecedented sense of powerlessness welled up within the Kazekage. He, Fourth Kazekage Rasa had been utterly defeated in his own domain, by a philosophy he had once called naive.
the duel was over. The Architect had won.
