A few days was already a long time for Fujimura Hui.
Ever since the "Friend of Horse Girls" title leveled up, after finishing training each night, he could reliably earn 120+ attribute points.
In just a handful of days, that was enough to more than double Red Eyes' stats.
And since Hui was the type who could get hopelessly addicted to crunching numbers, Red Eyes' values finally hit his target right before the debut race.
[Speed: 422 | Stamina: 401 | Power: 410 | Grit: 407 | Intelligence: 401]
All attributes over four hundred.
He finally forced it into existence through sheer, brutal grinding.
As an aside, the few horse girls under Hui's direct coaching had also grown rapidly over the past half month—some of their attributes had already exceeded 300. Their growth wasn't as absurd as his, but Hui was still satisfied. After all, they didn't have a system acting like a cheat engine; it was only natural that his expectations for their pace wouldn't be as harsh.
And still—at this rate, when they debuted, they would absolutely shock people.
Back to Red Eyes' strength.
Reaching an average attribute value of 400 also triggered the evolution requirement for another achievement trait Hui possessed.
[Stirring of the Strong]
[Quality: Elite (Upgradeable)]
[Upgrade Requirement: Average attributes exceed 700]
[Effect: If the opponent's average attributes are lower than yours, they will feel pressure; while running, you have a chance to interfere with the opponent's field of vision.]
[Note: The probability of interfering with vision depends on the attribute gap between you and the opponent.]
"So it can even mess with the opponent's vision…? That's something this system can do?"
Hui had no idea what mechanism could possibly affect someone's vision during a race—but if the system granted it, it probably wouldn't screw up in any catastrophic way.
"Time."
Seeing it was about time in the dorm, Hui tapped the transformation button.
"Teleport."
Light flashed. He vanished from where he stood. When he reappeared, the environment around him had already become a street corner in New York.
Next was… the debut race.
—
Aqueduct Racetrack.
Located in Queens, New York—the only racetrack venue in the entire city.
And Red Eyes' debut race would be held here.
"So I'm racing here…"
Hui looked at the unfamiliar track and took a deep breath.
In the past, he always entered racetracks as a trainer. Now he would enter as a horse girl…
He pressed a hand lightly to his chest, feeling his heart thumping in his ribcage, and let out a quiet sigh.
It was an unexpectedly complicated feeling.
But at this point, there was no retreating.
He had planned and prepared for this debut race for a long time. This place would be his starting line.
With that thought, the black-haired, red-eyed girl stepped into Aqueduct Racetrack.
After entering, Hui found a staff member, proved his identity, and was guided into the competitors' waiting room.
Inside, his race outfit was already placed on the table.
Calling it a "race outfit" was generous—it was basically just sportswear with a number, nothing special.
"Gate 7, huh?"
The number on the outfit corresponded to the starting stall he'd enter later.
Hui had already checked the entry list: fifteen horse girls would be racing today, and Gate 7 was right in the middle.
A perfectly ordinary draw.
After changing, Hui left the waiting room and followed the corridor toward the presentation stage.
The presentation stage—true to its name—was where the horse girls showed their energy and spirit to the fans. It was essentially a fan-attraction segment.
Besides fan service, the racers also used this time to check their physical condition, warm up, inspect their shoes… all pre-race preparations could be handled during this segment.
The moment Hui stepped onto the presentation stage, he felt countless eyes converge on him.
Whether it was rival horse girls nearby, or the fans below, everyone's gaze landed on Red Eyes.
"Hey, hey—since when did this race have a foreign horse girl?"
"Tch. She's so short—no way she's fast."
"Doesn't look strong."
The crowd buzzed with chatter.
Red Eyes wasn't particularly tall. Compared to horse girls born in the Americas, her build was noticeably smaller—and with her distinct East Asian features, she stood out sharply in the sea of tall competitors.
And it wasn't only the audience that was curious. The horse girls warming up around her took one look at her small frame and started thinking the same thing.
"Looks like we can cross one competitor off the list early."
"Nice. A freebie showed up."
They giggled, not taking Red Eyes seriously at all.
Hui heard them and didn't care.
He couldn't be bothered to argue with people over something that stupid. When the race started, reality would do the talking.
Just as he focused on his warm-up routine, a voice cut into his ear.
"So you really did show up!"
The newcomer was huge—eyes bulging like bells, face flushed red as if her blood was boiling.
Hui glanced over and confirmed her identity.
Wasn't this the roadside troublemaker he'd given a little "lesson" to a few days ago?
"So you actually registered."
"Heh… heh… heh…"
California Speed let out a low, unpleasant laugh. She stared at Red Eyes and ground out the words through clenched teeth:
"If I didn't, how would I ever get the chance to step on you?"
Hui went silent.
Why did this idiot have to latch onto him of all people?
"Boring."
After tossing out that single word, he stopped paying her any attention.
California Speed, seeing him ignore her, found the rage in her chest even harder to suppress.
"That arrogant face of yours won't last once the race begins. Then we'll see what you're really made of…!"
What California Speed was thinking, Hui didn't know—and even if he did, he probably wouldn't care.
If anything, in this debut race, there were almost no opponents who could genuinely interest him.
"Appraisal Eye."
Hui murmured internally.
In the next instant, faint blue panels surfaced above the horse girls around him.
Looking at opponents whose averages hovered around the low two hundreds, Hui smiled.
