CHP : 35 The Wall Starts to Crack
The next morning, the Gu Clan courtyard was unusually quiet… until a loud crash echoed through the air.
Gu Nie's voice roared from inside, "WHO PUT A LIVE CHICKEN IN MY ARMOR CHEST?!"
Wang San was sitting on the wall, swinging his legs, grinning like a cat that had stolen the cream. "Oh, must have been a mysterious ghost," he said innocently, biting into an apple.
Yun Zhan passed by, expression as blank as ever. San hopped down and walked beside him, leaning in too close. "Zhan, your face looks even scarier when you ignore me. You practicing to be a statue?"
Zhan didn't answer, but his stride quickened.
Not giving up, San pulled a small paper rabbit lantern from his sleeve and shoved it into Zhan's hands. "Here. If you keep looking so serious, people will think you're an old man. This will help."
Zhan paused for half a second, then placed the lantern back into San's arms without a word and kept walking.
San puffed his cheeks, muttering, "Hmph… one day you'll laugh again, and I'll make sure it's because of me."
