I hadn't expected Ms. Coraline to be the one at the door, and to think of what I'd been doing while she was right outside my door.
I bent my head so she wouldn't see the embarrassment written so clearly on my face. "Have you been knocking for long? I was in the bathroom. Sorry to keep you waiting." I rambled on.
"Hey, relax. I'm not going to scold you," she said softly. "And look at me while I'm speaking to you."
I guess I kind of forgot how strict Ms. Coraline could be.
I'm met with her dashing brown eyes when I look up, they are still as brown as ever, just like whiskey poured in a clear glass.
I felt her gaze on my exposed collarbone, there were still drops of water on my skin since I wasn't able to dry off.
"Is there anything you want me to do?" I asked which startled her. Had she been lost in thought while looking at me?
"Dinner." She raised a paper bag I didn't know she was holding. "And we need to talk. There's not much time."
