"Man, those guys at the costume department are awesome! They perfectly captured what I was thinking of!"
"Yeah. And the materials used are high-quality as well."
"Ryuga-chan, are you sure of that costume? It looks like a normal civilian outfit."
At Tsuyu's words, Mina and the others turned to Hiro. Indeed. Such a basic costume doesn't scream 'hero' at all.
"It's fine. I designed this as a tribute to one of my favorite heroes. Besides, this also suits my Quirk best."
Hiro replied. Although his costume looks normal, when paired with his muscular physique and his certified handsome face, that normal appearance instead accentuates his extraordinary qualities.
And as he said, he designed it in accordance with Bang-sensei's outfit. After being guided by the old man for seven years, he already considered himself a disciple of the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist dojo.
Letting the multiverse know the supremacy of their martial arts was just one of his ways of showing gratitude.
"It's time for battle training!"
Everyone stopped talking. They turned to All Might, eager to hear what they would do in their new hero costumes.
"Sensei! This is the same field we used for our entrance exam. Will we have another city battle?"
Iida, wearing a sleek, silver, robot-looking costume, raised his hand and asked.
"Astute observation, young Iida. But no. This time, we'll be having indoor anti-personnel battle training!"
"Although most villain battles are seen outdoors, statistically speaking, the most heinous villains are more likely to hide themselves indoors."
"To train your ability to handle such situations, we'll now conduct two vs. two indoor battles! Now then, are there any questions?"
As soon as All Might finished, many among class 1A raised their hands.
"Sensei, won't we first have some basic training?"
"Practical experience is the best training!"
"All Might-sensei! What are the victory conditions?"
"Can I just blast everyone away?"
"Will the losing team be at risk of being expelled?"
"One question at a time, students!"
All Might shouted, a drop of cold sweat trickling down his forehead. When they finally quietened down, he coughed…and then took out a note which explains how the battle will go.
The class will be divided into villains and heroes. The villains are in charge of hiding and guarding a nuclear bomb inside the building, while heroes have to go in and take care of it.
Each battle has a time limit of 15 minutes. For the villains to win, they either have to wait that time out, or subdue and incapacitate the heroes.
Meanwhile, the heroes' victory condition is to secure the bomb before the time limit is up, or to capture the villains.
Finally, everyone will draw lots to determine their partners. And then All Might himself will draw lots to determine which team will fight and who among them are heroes or villains.
After the explanation, everyone moved on to determining their partners. The results were…very interesting.
Team A: Midoriya and Bakugo
Team B: Todoroki and Asui
Team C: Ashido and Jiro
Team D: Kirishima and Koda
Team E: Aoyama and Hagakure
Team F: Tokoyami and Sero
Team G: Kaminari and Iida
Team H: Yaoyorozu and Ryugamine
Team I: Uraraka and Shoji
Team J: Sato and Ojiro
Hiro glanced at Team A as soon as he saw the pairing. And sure enough, the two were as lively as he expected.
"Die, Deku! Why is it you?!"
"Ka-kacchan, I'm sorry!"
Hiro doesn't understand. It's understandable Midoriya is still very afraid of Bakugo, being bullied since they were kids and all. But why does he not try to cut off his contact with him? After being abused for so long, did he get a case of Stockholm Syndrome?
"Ryugamine-kun, let's do our best."
His musings were interrupted by a soft, determined voice. He turned and saw Momo in her red, sleeveless leotard-style costume with a golden utility belt. He smiled and shook her outstretched hand.
"Yeah, let's."
"Honestly, it's not fair. The top 1 and top 2 in a single team? I pity the ones who'll go against the two of you."
"Careful. That's just begging fate to match you up against us. By then, I'll make sure to repay you for the delicious 'treat' this afternoon."
"Pftt! Yeah right. If that happens, we'll just lie down and surrender."
Mina chuckled and jokingly punched his arm. However, when she saw Team C was drawn by All Might, her pupils dilated. She only calmed down when the other ball was shown to be Team G.
"Too bad, what a wasted opportunity."
"Jerk. Come on, Kyoka-chan. Let's show them what we've got."
Hiro wished them luck with a smile as they departed, before going to the monitoring room with the others.
For this match, Mina and Jiro were assigned as the villain teams, with Kaminari and Iida as the heroes.
There was a 5 minute prep time for the villains to prepare and the heroes to discuss their strategy. During this period, Hiro and the others discussed the possible outcomes of the match.
Soon, the preparation time ended and the battle began.
Without info on the bomb, Iida and Kaminari had to search from the ground up. They carefully checked every room, wary of a trap or ambush.
They cleared the first floor. The second. But on their way to the third, an accident happened.
"Back off!"
Iida shouted. Just as they were going up the stairs, a large amount of acid sprayed down on them.
Because they were on the stairs, he couldn't use his Engine Quirk. He still wasn't skilled enough to control it and would most likely send himself hurtling downwards.
However, without using it, they were not able to escape the acid's range in time and got covered in the white substance.
"Hohoho, heroes, this is as far as you'll go!"
From above, Mina, wearing her punk-like costume, laughed with her hands on her hips.
"Damn villain! What have you done to us?"
Iida shouted as he tried to stand up. However, as soon as his feet touched the floor, he wobbled and slid down on his back with a thud.
"It's no use. That's my special move- the Zero-Friction Acid. Now that your whole body is covered, just wait for the time to end."
Mina cackled as Iida and Kaminari slipped down once again.
Because of its limited offensive capabilities, she could produce the Zero-Friction Acid much more easily than her other variants. And since the start of the match, she only focused on producing said acid, just waiting for Kyoka's signal to unleash it.
Iida and Kaminari tried their best. However, until the end, they were unable to slip away from the Acid's grasp, especially since Mina sprayed them one more time.
"The villain team wins!!!"
Back at the monitoring room, the gloomy faced Iida and Kaminari were back, along with Mina and Jiro.
"Everyone did great. Especially the teamwork shown by Ashido-san and Jiro-san, it's something everyone should learn from."
"Now then, in this match, does anyone know what the deciding factor was?"
"I do, All Might-sensei!"
From right beside Hiro, Momo raised her hand. After getting All Might's nod, she continued.
"It was the presence of Jiro-san, or more specifically, someone who can conduct reconnaissance."
"With Jiro-san's Quirk, their team was able to detect Iida-kun and Kaminari-kun's presence without giving away their position. This gave them the perfect timing to release the trap Ashido-san was preparing."
"Conversely, because the Hero team does not have the same information gathering method, they had to expend more effort searching and were easily caught off guard."
"Well said, Yaoyorozu-san! I couldn't have worded it better myself! Ehem. Now then, let's proceed to the next match."
All Might reached into the villain and hero boxes, simultaneously showing the result to everyone.
"Next, we'll have Team A versus Team H!"
Hiro perked up. What a surprise. A fight against Midoriya and Bakugo? This ought to be interesting.
"White-haired freak, you're going down."
On their way to the battle building, Bakugo whispered as he passed by Hiro. He gave him a provocative glare, which was only met with an amused smirk.
"Good luck then, Bakugo-san, Midoriya-kun. Let's have a fun match."
"A-ah! Good luck, too! Ryugamine-kun, Yaoyorozu-san."
Waving his hand, he and Momo watched as the two childhood 'friends' entered the building.
