Heath Villamor's POV
"Wow!"
I had no other reaction but 'Wow.' I couldn't believe that the innocent daughter of Don Crisostomo Montemayor had such an intense secret.
I massaged my temples while enduring the moans and vulgar words from the woman I thought was an angel. If only I could just leave this door and be the only one ashamed of the two of them. But I couldn't, I needed to watch her, and it was my first day. I needed to earn the Don's trust so he wouldn't say he wasted money and time on me, fetching me all the way from Pagadian City.
"Aaaaah! That feels so good, Ren!" Caprice, Don Montemayor's daughter, almost screamed.
"Aaaaah! Aaaaah! Caprice, is this what you want, huh? Is this it!" Ren, a showbiz personality who was supposedly famous, seemed really excited. I didn't recognize him because I wasn't fond of television and preferred hanging out in the fields with my friends whenever I had the chance.
"Yes! That's what I want, Reeeen!"
I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. I endured that for half an hour before Ren came out, not even looking back.
"Heath, come in here." Caprice said as she appeared at the door.
I went inside, thinking she was already dressed, but I immediately turned my back because she was only wearing a robe, and it wasn't tied properly, revealing her boastful chest.
I heard her laugh, and even though I wanted to know why, I didn't ask.
"My food delivery will be here soon, here's the payment."
"Miss, have you fixed your clothes?" I asked before turning to her.
"Yep."
I turned around comfortably, but I almost fell backward because instead of fixing her clothes, she seemed to expose her body even more. My gaze didn't waver when I noticed that her robe was no longer tied.
She laughed again and almost couldn't stop.
"You're so red! Are you a virgin?" she asked jokingly.
"Miss." I wasn't amused.
"Here," she handed me a one thousand bill. "Bring it inside when it arrives. I'm just going to take a bath."
I took it and immediately excused myself and left.
I just shook my head.
If I were to recall Caprice Montemayor's appearance, she really looked like an actress, an angel, and I never thought she was such a mischievous woman. It seemed like nothing to her to flaunt her body. I also didn't expect that she didn't care if others found out what she was doing with her boyfriend, which should have been private to them.
Her food delivery arrived after twenty minutes. I brought it inside her room and placed it on a table with her three hundred peso change. I also got her a plate, spoon, and drink so she wouldn't have a hard time moving around. I also left immediately because it wasn't good for me to stay inside her room for too long. Even if her father didn't say anything about it, it was a given that I shouldn't get too close to his daughter, especially since she was a woman. Even if they say his daughter is 'Wild' which he probably doesn't even know.
The door opened, so I looked back because she might need something.
"Do you need anything else, miss?" I asked.
"Let's eat."
"I'll just eat later when my replacement arrives, miss."
"What replacement? Do you know what time Joe gets here? Three p.m.! Don't worry, Dad knows I'm not used to eating alone, that's why I need you, or I won't eat? You choose..."
"Miss—"
She pulled me, "Hurry, I'm so hungry."
I could still smell her fragrant scent, I didn't know if it was shampoo or soap. She was wearing a T-shirt and short shorts. I shook my head.
"Get used to it, okay? Dad won't get mad, he knows me. Let's eat."
When she opened it, I wasn't familiar with the dish. All I knew was that it was meat and
vegetables that could feed three or four people.
"You want rice? Just get it from the rice cooker," She said.
Since I was more used to rice, I asked permission to get some.
"Sure, just get it there. Feel at home."
When I returned, she was already starting to eat, and she didn't have rice.
"Do you like veggies?" she asked.
"Yes, miss. We have many vegetable crops in the province."
She nodded, "Wow, it seems nice there? Is it a big plantation?"
"Not really, miss, our land is just for backyard gardening, and the larger part is our rice field." I answered.
"Thank you for this, miss."
She rolled her eyes, "Get used to it. Next time, I don't want you thanking me and asking permission for small things. I prefer we're just buddies, like that."
"That's not possible, miss—"
"Sus!" Sometimes, she even puts food on my plate.
The meat was beef, and it tasted like caldereta. The mixed vegetables were almost half-cooked, so they were still crunchy when eaten.
There were times when she stared at me intently, and when I caught her, she just smiled at me.
"Do you have any experience?"
I was surprised by her question.
"I don't think it's part of my job, miss, to answer that, is it?" I made my voice serious.
I thought she would get annoyed or quiet, but her smile widened, and she nodded.
"Wanna try it with me?"
I almost fell off my chair at her question.
"Miss—"
I heard her burst out laughing. "I'm just joking, let's eat."
For several days, that routine with her celebrity boyfriend was repeated.
There were also times when she went to a bar, and I felt awkward because I never did that when I was in Pagadian. But Mr. Montemayor didn't really forbid anything to his daughter because his only instruction was to follow his daughter and ensure her safety. But let her do what she wants in life so she won't feel suffocated.
I also wondered if Mr. Montemayor was really that open-minded? Did he really know his daughter? Or was he also basing it on her appearance? But he never asked where we were going. I just answered whatever he asked. I also didn't want to start their fight if I added more. Because I believe that everyone, even family members, needs privacy, even married couples.
"Did Joe get fired?" Miss Caprice asked me while shopping for clothes in a boutique.
"Yes, ma'am."
She didn't speak immediately.
"Why?"
"Private reason, ma'am. I also don't ask."
She almost rolled her eyes. "You know what's difficult about you is that I have to ask you first before you explain?" She also laughed even though she seemed irritable.
"When I ask you this, can you give an explanation right away instead of waiting for my 'why'?" she turned to me.
I wasn't shaken by her, "Miss, you only asked me if Joe was fired. There was no 'why' that followed—"
"Ay, whatever!"
I smiled.
"You know, if you're that stingy with words and you're always quiet, I don't know if your girlfriend won't get bored with you. No matter how handsome you are, if you're boring, it's useless!"
I just let her talk and talk until she got tired and looked at me with a very sour face. "You have no reaction?"
I shrugged.
"Oh my!"
I smiled secretly when she turned her back.
"Where do you want to eat?" she asked me when we got out of the boutique.
Her bad mood disappeared so quickly, it was gone as soon as we got out.
"Wherever you want, miss. I'm not hungry anyway."
"You know that even if you're not hungry, you need to accompany me."
I just kept quiet.
We got in the car after we put her purchases in the compartment.
"I feel like eating rice now, it's like you drained all my energy."
"Where are we going, miss?"
"That fast food there," she smiled.
"Fast food?"
"Yes, the one with the fat, smiling statue!" she smiled widely.
I smiled because I knew it very well.
"Are there many people there?"
"It's okay, as long as I eat my favorite food with rice."
When we got there, she even had me take a picture of her with the statue, smiling from ear to ear, and laughed at herself before posting it on her social media account. She ordered because she said she wanted to choose.
"You?" She looked at me.
"Anything?" She raised an eyebrow at me.
I smiled and nodded.
"Oh Heath, really!"
She was starting to get moody again until we sat down. But when she saw the food she ordered, which seemed to be for a whole family, she was overjoyed.
"Are you going to finish all that?" I asked.
"Oh, you're the first to ask now?" she teased.
"Miss—"
"I need energy!" She started choosing what to eat first.
She was like a child while getting fries and dipping them in sauce everywhere. Even the sauce of the spring rolls wasn't spared.
"Chicken skin," she said, tearing it off as if she were in a commercial.
I just shook my head.
I also got used to eating with her while she told stories about her favorite food when she was a child and her comfort food when she was stressed. I wondered if she was still stressed?
It seemed like she had everything. She finished college and would be taking a Master's degree next year because she said she was resting first. Everything she wanted to buy and do, she could easily do. She was such a lucky person.
Her attention was caught by a news report. To see it, I had to turn around, so I just listened.
"Oh," she reacted as if it were nothing.
A talk show host said that Caprice's boyfriend was rumored to be courting the actress he was working with.
It must be difficult to have a relationship with an artist.
When I looked at her, it seemed like nothing to her, but she might just be hiding it. She continued to eat and chatter.
We returned to her unit, and as usual, she let me in.
"Miss, I'm going out—"
"No. How do you know if someone will kill me inside?"
"That's impossib—"
"Just stay inside."
"Aren't you scared?"
"No. Besides, if something happens to me, you'll be the one to blame, right?" she said.
She sat on the sofa. She seemed to have a hard time removing the strap of her shoes because she was tired, so I knelt to help her.
"Wow, you know, you'll last with me, really..."
I ignored that.
"But it also depends," she added.
I took off her shoes, and she immediately lay down on the sofa. Not caring if her short dress rose even higher.
I took the throw pillow from her foot and gave it to her.
"What's this for?"
I didn't answer and just picked up her mess on the floor.
"You're so diligent, why don't I just marry you? It seems like I won't be stressed with you, you seem so understanding—" she said in a sleepy voice.
She was tired of talking, so when I looked back at her, she was sound asleep. She looked too angelic.
I went out and just stood guard outside. I tried calling home. Since she was sound asleep, our conversation lasted longer.
After an hour, her celebrity boyfriend arrived as usual, she didn't care.
"Excuse me, sir."
He voluntarily patted himself.
"What's the point?" He said irritably, not used to the protocol of us guards of Miss Caprice.
I just shrugged and let him in, as per Miss Caprice's instructions.
I won't last long as a bodyguard. I prefer working in the fields. Maybe it's because I'm used to talking to more people, and I still prefer the rice fields to the huge buildings. But I admit that Manila is also a beautiful place, I was also amazed during my first week. There are also more schools compared to our place, where you need to travel a long way before you can reach a school.
I heard them arguing, so I also prepared to go in incase the argument lasted. I was taking care of her, and she shouldn't get hurt under my care. The voices got louder, but before I could go in, the angry man came out.
I went in immediately. I saw Caprice looking angry while sitting with her arms crossed.
"Were you hurt, Miss?" I looked at her to check.
"Leave me alone!" she shouted.
It seemed like she didn't have any scratches, so I immediately stood up to leave.
"Just stay here." She said firmly.
I didn't object and stood not far from her.
After a while, she was very irritated and threw things, but I remained standing. When she got tired and was calming down, I started cleaning.
"Don't stand up yet," I stopped her when she was about to stand up.
"What's it to you?"
"Sit down, miss."
She looked at me angrily, but she probably saw that I was too serious, so she just rolled her eyes at me.
"I don't want you to get hurt. Wait for me to finish picking up what you broke."
I don't know why she was blushing and didn't want to look at me.
"O-okay."
