Chapter 2 - SEEING HIM ONCE AGAIN

GEORGIE

My head felt like it was splitting open, the moment I felt my consciousness peeking.

I groaned softly as I stirred, sinking deeper into the mattress before realizing how impossibly soft it was. The sheets were so cool against my skin, the pillow cradling my head like.

Only then did the memories come crashing down all at once.

I jolted upright at once with my heart racing wildly as I scanned the unfamiliar room. He didn't do what I thought he did right? I thought to myself that because I was pretty, nothing was wrong until I felt a pain in my neck, and the next thing I lost consciousness.

I swallowed hard still scanning the room, he must have brought me to his apartment, oh goodness this is not good.

The room itself was breathtaking. Floor-to-ceiling windows dressed in sheer curtains, Everything screams wealth, so this was Lucian now.

I wondered how much richer he had become since I left him. I slid my legs off the bed, and instantly a piercing sound exploded in my ears, followed by my scream.

"What the fuck!"

Pain shot through my head as I lost balance and collapsed back onto the bed, clutching my ears.

Then the door opened calmly, as the one I expected walked in as if nothing had happened. Hands in his pockets as he rested his back against the door which was now closed.

"Stop it!" I yelled at him. "Turn it off!"

But he smirked in return, not even moving an inch. "Lie back down."

I stared at him like he had lost his mind. "What are you talking about?"

"I hate being questioned." He replied as he now strolled toward the small stool beside the bed, sitting on it stool having that blank look.

"Lucian," I called annoyed. That name, it's been a while since I called it.

Who knew I would be calling it now because he decided to appear in front of me all of a sudden.

"Do what I asked you to do Lia." He insisted and I took a deep breath. With no other choice, I slowly lay back.

The sound stopped the moment my back touched the bed and my eyes widened. "What the hell!"

I tried to sit up again but froze when I felt my tight tear, panic crept up my spine as realization hit.

I lay back immediately, pulling the duvet over myself.

I glanced toward Lucian only to see his lips curved slightly.

"Now," he said quietly, his voice lower than before, "can we have a serious conversation?"

I rolled my eyes, even though I knew I wasn't escaping his man.

"What do you want to know?"

"Why are you working there?" He asked.

"You only paid for a whole night," I muttered. "I do not see why I need to explain my.."

He stood and the sudden movement snapped my mouth shut.

He reached for me, lifting me easily until my back pressed against the headboard. The sound blared again, slicing through my skull.

Before I could cry out, he pulled a small device from his pocket and pressed it, making it stop. So the jerk had something he could use to stop it.

"Paying for your whole night costs a lot," he let out. "You will answer every question I ask, if you don't want to regret meeting me today."

I smiled faintly, irritation flickering through my fear. "And if I do not?"

Then he pulled me closer, his body heat engulfing mine, making my breath hitch.

The feeling I had buried for five years stirred violently to life.

"Do not test me, Liana."

"My name is Georgie," I corrected with annoyance.

"I do not give a damn about that name," he replied coldly. "Lia."

My heart thumped painfully as he called that name. No one had called me that in five years.

I shoved him away, standing up despite the dizziness, but his hand shot out, dragging me back, pressing me down against the bed as his palms pinned my wrists above my head.

"You still do not understand," he said quietly "I own your night." He leaned closer, his face inches from mine.

"Lia," he murmured. "This time, I will not let you disappear again."

My chest tightened. "I do not want you. I do not want us. Why are you?…"

His hand closed around my neck, cutting off my breath.

"Who said anything about us?" he growled. "I want payback not a stupid love with whore like you."

Something shattered inside me, as he mentioned that. Being called names no longer hurts me, but hearing it from Lucian destroyed me.

"You chose to pay for tonight, so do whatever you want and let me go after."

He tilted my head sharply, his gaze burning into mine.

"So you are a whore now?" I bit my lip, refusing to give him tears.

"Call me whatever you want, after all you made it obvious right from when you never had a choice but to bring me here" I said quietly. "And a gin I will remind you that you only have tonight."

"How many men?" he cut in. "How many have touched you?" The question pierced deeper than any insult.

"Too many," I lied. "I lost count."

His grip loosened as he rolled away, sitting on the edge of the bed, breathing hard.

"Make me feel better," he muttered.

I stared at him in shock, of course he was once my boyfriend and I knew what that statement meant.

"How?" I asked to be sure I heard him right.

"Do your job." I bit my lip at this moment.

"I am not a…"

"I do not care," he snapped. "Do something worth the money I paid."

I inhaled slowly, and with that one thought 'just for tonight.'

I crawled toward him and slowly sat on his thigh. His gaze locked onto mine, blank. Shame burned through me, I don't feel it when I do this to other men but now? I forced myself forward.

It is only tonight, I told myself again, but I still couldn't move.

"What is wrong?" he asked again.

"There is no music," I whispered, I watched him take in a long deep breath and then the room shifted.

Soft lights flickered on along the walls, then slowly music filled the air, low and vibrating through the floor.

The room looked unreal, again he was showing me how wealthy he is now.

Then Lucian leaned back slightly, watching me, "Now, do your job." he let out.

With one more deep breath, I began to sway against him, feeling his body suddenly tense beneath mine as I moved to the rhythm of the song, slowly my hands trailed up his chest. His eyes closed briefly.

Then his phone rang, making me freeze.

"Do not stop," he ordered calmly, answering the call as his hands settled firmly on my waist.

"Hello, babe," a woman's voice chirped through the silence.

"I will be back tomorrow. Make sure you come pick me up at the airport."

Every little emotion I kept in busted out as those words replayed in my head.
