I looked around for something, anything to grab!
Then I saw it! A beautiful white marble!
"Get over here!" Reached out with my right hand and made a fist, as if I was grabbing hold of a life-saving rope!
Then I started slowing down! I kept getting pulled backwards and it felt like my arm was going to get ripped off! My whole body felt like it was going to be torn in half!
I almost had to let go!
"Goddamn it! I'm a fucking Kryptonian! I'm not gonna die like this!" I felt numb below my waist, then the pain was insanely intense! I looked down and saw my intestines whipping around in space beneath my torn open torso…
The lower half of my body was just fucking gone. I watched it flying off towards the Sun. Meanwhile my upper body was shooting towards that milky white ball. Under the insanely dense clouds was a yellow surface.
"I guess I'm gonna have to get another cellphone, huh?" Was my first thought as I felt my lower body start to regenerate.
As for my shirt? I just ripped off what was left of it with my left hand and grabbed another 'strand' of that gravity rope. With both hands, I moved a little faster towards Venus, but it wasn't as insane anymore. Sure, thousands of miles per second was fast. But it wasn't relativistic speed.
I was scared my lower half might not get destroyed by the Sun. So I looked back from time to time. I was still millions of miles from Venus, while my lower half was already disintegrated when it got close to the Sun's Corona…
Well, I can't even survive that kinda temperature yet. Not to mention the lower half of my body that's not protected by a biological forcefield.
Hopefully. I hope it's really destroyed. I hope there isn't a single fucking cell left. Nothing that will come back to haunt me sooner or later. I'm way too young to be dealing with that level of bullshit, okay?
I looked down at my lower body again and pushed my ripped up intestines back inside of my rapidly regenerating flesh. It only took a few seconds. I watched my abs regain some definition, but below the belly-button was…
Not great looking. It hurt like a motherfucker, but when the pain and discomfort reaches a certain level, I just kinda turn it off.
"I'll heal. But not instantly." I grimaced and wondered if there was some cosmic being fucking with me? Wouldn't be that surprising really.
Maybe I shouldn't have talked shit about Lucifer? Maybe I shouldn't have made plans to fuck a nine year old girl and my Mom on Valentine's Day? I guess we'll never know.
On the positive side of things, I did learn how to fly at 9 years old! Suck my nonexistent dick, Canon Superman!
So now I'm just slowly flying towards Venus. I've been scanning the clouds and the surface for hours now, but I can't find anything too weird. No Kaiju or fairies. No alien space worms or crashed starships. At least nothing yet.
The atmosphere is thick, but I can see through it easily enough. Venus looks yellow under the outer white shell, but then the actual ground is brown, tan, gray and red.
Loads of active volcanoes. Like hundreds of thousands, maybe a million, but I'm not bored enough to try counting them all. I'm mostly just worried there might be some demons or gods living there.
I'm not in a great state to be fighting anyone. I've tried listening to the surface from space, but uh… Nope, apparently I'm not at that level of dumb-fuckery in terms of superpowers.
Even on Earth, I can't hear faster than the speed of sound. Honestly, my guess is that Superman might be extending his Biological Forcefield around in thin hair-like tendrils that allow him to pick up vibrations almost the moment they happen. Either that, or maybe he can just hear the future?
After all, if he travels the speed of light or faster to reach the location, then he's literally time-traveling. By doing that, he could theoretically hear things that are going to happen, before they happen, and then he's just reacting to them.
Or he's hearing things from other parallel timelines. Or he's using telepathy disguised as hearing. Either way, I'm gonna stop worrying about it.
My bigger concern is slowing down, again. The closer I get to Venus, the faster I accelerate. But I'm kinda afraid to let go and get yoinked back towards the Sun.
Okay, I gotta stop being such a pussy! I just gotta do it!
The moment I opened my palm, it was like I took my nonexistent foot off the gas. Although I'm still traveling thousands of miles per second, that number is going down. I'm slowing down. Or in other words, I'm accelerating in the opposite direction that I'm facing.
I want to breathe out a sigh, but I have no air in my lungs anymore.
I looked over towards Earth again. Had to squint my eyes to see the planet, but it was there. Just like before. I zoomed in again and again. Until I could see through the clouds to my roof. Lana wasn't there anymore, she was at her house with her mother. My Mom and Dad were at home.
I looked over towards the castle nearby. The stones and denser materials were hard to see through from so far away. But I could see a beefy Green Martian dude floating high in the sky above the castle.
His blue cape billowed and his similarly blue speedo also stood out… Plus that big red X, made me wonder what the fuck he was thinking about when he designed that costume?
"Clark?" He looked up at me and sent his thoughts directly into my mind, "What happened to you?!"
"I learned how to fly." I looked down at my missing lower half and then back towards the distant Superhero, "Do you think you can come bring me home? I'm about to crash into Venus soon."
"I can see that! Unfortunately, I can't just go galavanting around in space…" Of course he had some convoluted reason for not being useful again, "It's not convoluted, Clark. If I leave Earth, the White Martians might notice my Psychic Presence and it wouldn't take long for them to find both of us."
"For fuck's sake…" I rolled my eyes at him from tens of millions of miles away. Theoretically, he shouldn't have been able to see me do that for nearly four minutes, but apparently our super-vision could see faster than the speed of light? Otherwise how could I watch my lower half disintegrating so fast? The sun is 6 light minutes from Venus.
"Clark, you need to focus on slowing yourself down. If you crash into the planet at your current speed, the consequences will be dire." J'onn gave me some unnecessary advice.
"I'm surprisingly calm considering the circumstances. And I am slowing down." I focused on Venus again and my speed was decreasing rapidly. I spread my arms wide and enjoyed the bright sunlight on my back. I could feel part of my spine regenerating slowly. The intestines and other organs I lost were able to regenerate way faster than the bones.
"I can hear your friend calling your parents to check on you." The Martian asked, "Did you want me to let them know you're stranded on another planet?"
"I'm not stranded on Venus yet. Even if I make it there, it's just a matter of time before I get back home. I can fly now. There's nothing stopping me."
Although I telepathically said that, the truth is that I would need a lot more time to actually get used to this whole gravitational superflight bullshit.
I'm scared that I might miss Valentine's Day with Lena. I also didn't want John to get anywhere near my Mom…
