Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 The Teleportation Portal

Finney Hellseg wouldn't do something as reckless as throwing the baby out with the bathwater, but he also didn't want to be controlled by power; otherwise, a future where he couldn't even dream of anything would be terrifying.

After all, some things are only meant to be thought about; if they were to become reality, he wouldn't want them either—like, what would it look like to wear women's clothing!?

In his new home, many television programs were reporting on Tony Stark's attack and disappearance. A week had passed, and most people were speculating that Stark was dead.

This situation also caused Stark Industries' stock to plummet. Finney Hellseg had originally wanted to take advantage of the situation to buy some shares, but found that he couldn't buy any; it seemed that someone had already secretly acquired them.

It made sense; the attack was orchestrated by Obadiah Stane. Before he acted, he should have foreseen the consequences of Tony's death, so the stock drop was probably within his expectations. Trying to pick up bargains wasn't so easy.

The best time to buy shares would be when Tony unexpectedly returned and then, to everyone's surprise, announced the closure of the weapons department.

However, with his limited funds, he probably couldn't buy much anyway, and certainly not enough to become a board member. Keeping it and selling it later when the price goes up was a good option.

Finney Hellseg thought to himself as he watched TV.

As for rescuing Tony Stark now and then making him do a favor, he hadn't given it much thought. If he wanted to, he could probably manage it with the 'Jack Sparrow Compass'.

But doing so was pointless. Without his intervention, Tony Stark would become Iron Man, a righteous hero. Perhaps he was arrogant, haughty, and self-righteous, but his heart was undoubtedly righteous.

Finney Hellseg didn't want to change that. It's never wrong for there to be more good people in the world. Besides, he had already latched onto the powerful Ancient One; there was no need to go out of his way to please Tony Stark.

In his mind, the scientific and magical sides were opposing forces!

While he didn't want to change Tony's growth trajectory, it didn't mean Finney Hellseg would do nothing. At least Obadiah, the Iron Monger, should be a good source of experience.

Now, the focus was on how to defeat him with the highest possible chance.

  'Possessed' was powerful, but compared to Iron Man, it had two serious weaknesses: first, its offensive capabilities were insufficient, and its magic was immature;

second, its anti-air ability was weak. Although 'Possessed' could evolve, Finney Hellseg currently lacked the ability to evolve it to anti-air attributes, and the portal couldn't be opened, which was very worrying.

Thinking about this, Finney Hellseg suddenly realized how weak he really was and sighed in frustration.

But in reality, it wasn't that simple. Although he didn't know how high Iron Man's metal defense was, unless it was entirely vibranium, it shouldn't be as strong as 'Possessed'. Furthermore

, 'Possessed' would definitely provide Finney Hellseg with more of a boost to his physique than Iron Man's, namely in attributes like strength and agility.

Without considering aerial combat, in close-quarters combat, with Finney Hellseg's nearly year-long combat experience, and taking into account the current level of the AI, as well as Tony's own abilities, he should be able to easily defeat him.

Moreover, the most difficult part of opening the portal is actually guiding the energy; after the last stimulation, he's already managed to generate some sparks, meaning he's not far from successfully opening it.

With the full boost from 'Possessed by Evil Spirit', it shouldn't be long before it opens, at which point he'll have some air superiority.

Thinking this through, Finney Hellseg regained some confidence.

In the living room, Skye, coming out of her room, saw Finney Hellseg sitting on the sofa, engrossed in watching TV, especially news about Tony Stark, and couldn't help but be surprised: "I've noticed you seem to be paying a lot of attention to that guy lately?"

"Of course, my future wallet depends on him."

Finney Hellseg stood up and stretched. He'd been paying attention to Tony Stark these past few days because he was worried about whether his existence would cause any butterfly effects, but so far, it seemed there was nothing unusual.

Upon hearing Finney Hellseg's words, Skye immediately asked curiously, "What do you mean? And didn't they all say that Tony Stark was attacked by terrorists and is dead?"      "How could that be!"

Finney Hellseg glanced at the TV host, who was listing Tony's various achievements with a mournful expression, and scoffed, "That guy is amazing. Right now, he's probably sweating buckets doing the most important thing in his life with the most important man in his life!"

Ethan sacrificed himself to save him, so he should be considered the most important man in his life. Building the Mark I requires forging iron, which must be hot, and if they fail, they will die, so it must be the most important thing.

  "???"

  Skye had many questions.

But Finney Hellseg, who never spoils anything, ignored Skye's questioning gaze, straightened his clothes, and said, "I'm going back now. I might be a bit busy these few days. You stay home and keep Mom and Dad company."

Because they had followed Finney Hellseg's advice, the two elders retired from the law firm, and they were very unaccustomed to having nothing to do all of a sudden.

Kamar-Taj is a sacred place for sorcerers to cultivate, and it's not suitable for ordinary people to visit and stay for a long time. As for letting the two of them cultivate there…

if magic were really that easy to learn, there would be sorcerers everywhere.

So Finney Hellseg had been thinking about arranging a trip for the two of them. As long as they weren't in New York, the safety level seemed pretty high elsewhere.

Finney Hellseg's immediate priority was to learn how to use the portal and then quickly activate the fourth draw. If it weren't for the 'Possessed' ability he obtained in the third draw, his progress wouldn't have been so rapid.

After much deliberation, Finney Hellseg sent his parents to London and Hong Kong for a long vacation. There were sanctuaries there, and if anything happened, they could get there immediately.

Days passed, and two months flew by. News about Tony Stark gradually subsided; almost everyone believed he was dead, just waiting to find his body and officially announce it.

Besides Obadiah, who was being blackmailed by terrorists, and Tony's friends in the military, perhaps also a certain one-eyed bald director.

Kamar-Taj, night, in the training ground.

Finney Hellseg, wearing a slingshot and 'Possessed' armor, practiced diligently alone. In the darkness, sparks of energy flashed and shone in the void.

  "Teleportation Portal!"

Inside his armor, Finney Hellseg concentrated and chanted in a deep voice. With a gesture, a teleportation circle, like a ring of fire, slowly appeared before him. On the other side of the circle was his rented apartment in New York.

Finney Hellseg quickly passed through the portal, looking at the familiar surroundings. He was overjoyed; he had finally succeeded.

With the combined help of 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' and 'Evil Spirit Possession', he had finally learned this long-awaited spell after a year of training. Although the teleportation range was limited and the opening speed wasn't fast, he had succeeded nonetheless.

Next,if he could learn Mirror Space, he would have no regrets on his path as a mage for the time being.
