Chapter 190 - Chapter 192 Will You Remember How Many Pieces of Bread You Eat?

Chapter 192 Will You Remember How Many Pieces of Bread You Eat?

Hearing Finney's words, Skye's eyes lit up, and she immediately asked expectantly, "Is there anything I can help with?"

Finney turned to look at her. Although Skye's current strength wasn't weak, it seemed there were things she couldn't help with.

As for Wakanda, while he hoped to obtain vibranium, he didn't plan to go to war for the time being. Besides, even if there were a battle, he and the Blue-Eyes White Dragon were enough to handle a mere Black Panther; they didn't need Skye's help.

As for other matters, she didn't know how to build a spaceship, couldn't research the Mind Scepter, and going to Asgard to find a star map was impossible.

Thinking about it carefully, besides occasionally serving as an experience point, she didn't seem to be of much use.

Therefore, Finney ultimately refused Skye's request for help and left home amidst her somewhat disappointed gaze.

Although the weather was getting colder, with Christmas approaching, people in the streets and alleys were in a festive atmosphere.

Finney strolled around the streets for a while, then, carrying two small gifts he'd bought, opened a portal to Wanda and Pietro's villa.

The two had been living there for the past few months, and Hydra hadn't bothered them at all, as if they were unaware of their existence.

When Finney arrived, they were already up and eating breakfast, looking almost exactly the same as when he'd first seen them.

  "Good morning!"

Finney greeted them, handing them the small gifts he'd bought, then asked, "How have you been these past few days?"

Wanda first looked at the gift Finney had brought—a cute Santa Claus ornament—before replying, "Much better than in the lab."

Finney rolled his eyes, somewhat speechless, and sat down on the sofa, continuing to ask, "So, what do you think of Tony Stark now?"

The siblings fell silent for a moment, then Wanda finally answered, "He's a bit different from what we imagined!"

"So, are you still planning to seek revenge on him?"

Finney looked at the siblings with interest.

Faced with this question, the two men wore complex expressions and remained silent for a long time before Pietro said with a self-deprecating laugh, "With you here, how could we possibly seek revenge on him!"

"It's not a question of whether we can or can't, it's a question of whether we want to!"

Finney looked at Pietro and said, "Aren't these changes of his making amends for his mistakes? Can't you give him a chance?"

Pietro didn't answer. Although Tony had been investigating Bucky and Hydra, he hadn't forgotten his duties as Iron Man. They had seen Tony return battered and bruised in his suit.

At that moment, Wanda looked at Finney and suddenly asked, "I remember you said you could give us power."

  "It's only a possibility."

During this time, Finney had also thought about Wanda and Pietro's situation. He had Sitwell collect information on all the world's top scholars.

If they couldn't contact S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra, couldn't they contact ordinary people? So, they weren't completely clueless.

"What do we need to give up to obtain this power?"

Wanda continued, her eyes fixed on Finney.

"Let go of your hatred, and unconditionally help me when I need you. Of course, it shouldn't be too frequent!"

Finney replied, looking directly at her.

"That's all?" Wanda was slightly taken aback, seemingly not expecting Finney's demands to be so simple.

"First of all, I can't guarantee I can definitely help you gain power,"

Finney cautioned. Because he didn't know Hydra's methods, he wasn't entirely confident he could turn the two into Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Also, Wanda's power ceiling was very high; controlling them could easily backfire.

"Furthermore, don't think helping me is a simple matter. It could very well be going to space and waging interstellar war against aliens. One wrong move and you'll die."

Since he would eventually have to face Thanos, Finney didn't want to be forced into battle. If he had enough strength, he actually wanted to take the initiative.

Hearing this, Wanda's expression became more serious. She turned to look at Pietro beside her, and the two exchanged a glance.

Finally, Wanda looked at Finney and said, "We promise you we won't seek revenge on Stark anymore, but you have to help us gain power."

  "Are you sure?"

Finney looked at the two and said, "Let me make it clear first, it's only a possibility that you can gain power. I can't guarantee there won't be any danger or failure along the way."

  "Yes!"

Both nodded firmly, unmoved by Finney's words.

"Okay, I'll go prepare and contact you later."

Finney had considered the possibility that the two might change their minds, but looking at the siblings' eyes, he felt that was unlikely.

And even if they did change their minds, at most they'd just have two enemies, perhaps even gaining valuable experience.

Thinking that he had another problem to solve, Finney sighed inwardly, hoping once again that his eighth skill would be something like a clone.

After saying goodbye to the siblings, Finney went to Tony's place, where Pepper happened to be there as well.

  "Hey, Finney!"

Upon seeing Finney, Pepper happily walked over and gave him a hug, saying, "Long time no see!"

  "What brings you here?"

Seeing Pepper's enthusiasm for Finney, Tony was slightly annoyed.

  "Long time no see!"

Finney ignored Tony and chatted happily with Pepper for a few moments.

Then he suddenly remembered something he had almost forgotten: in the original storyline, it seemed that Adrian Killian had kidnapped Pepper to get revenge on Tony.

Judging by the timing, it seemed it was about time for him to come out and court disaster.

Actually, back when they took over Whitehall Base, Finney had investigated the AIM organization based on the data.

However, this guy was very sensitive to danger and seemed to have sensed something was wrong, then immediately went into hiding, so Finney couldn't find him and almost forgot about it later when he got busy.

"By the way, Pepper, do you know someone named Adrian Killian?"

Finney and Pepper were close, and he didn't want her to be kidnapped and tortured, so he decided to give her a heads-up.

"How do you know him?" Hearing the name, Pepper paused, then looked at Finney in surprise and nodded, "Yes, I used to work with him?"

"A man? Where did he work? I don't know him."

  Tony interjected, seemingly concerned.

"Just a former colleague, and I haven't seen him for many years!" Pepper rolled her eyes at Tony, took his hand, and coaxed him like a child before asking Finney curiously, "Why are you asking about him?"

"He's Tony's enemy, very dangerous. Be careful if he comes looking for you!"

"Wait!" Hearing this, Tony forgot his jealousy and quickly pressed Finney, "My enemy? I don't know him?"

"Do you remember how many pieces of bread you ate?"

Finney looked at Tony with disdain.

Tony understood that Finney was mocking him for offending too many people, but he still retorted defiantly, "I don't eat bread, I like cheeseburgers!"

"It seems he wanted to collaborate with you back then, and you agreed, but then stood him up. He held a grudge, and now that he's successful, he wants revenge,"

Finney explained simply. After all, the spaceship wasn't built yet, and they couldn't consume the Infinity Stones; the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's food still depended on Tony's miniature Arc Reactor.

  "Just because of that?"

  Tony was stunned.

Pepper, however, could somewhat understand. Tony had done countless things far worse than this back then; she wondered how she had managed to endure it all.

"I understand, I'll keep an eye on him!"

Pepper thanked Finney, while simultaneously considering how to eliminate Killian's hatred for Tony.

Seemingly sensing that Pepper had misunderstood him, Finney quickly added, "It's not as simple as you think. He's really dangerous. He conducted human experiments, and he could explode like a bomb."

"Anyway, if he contacts you, you'd better let me know!"

Tony's expression changed. Thinking of Banner, he frowned and asked, "Human experiments? Someone from the military?"

"No, he created his own organization!"

Finney shook his head. Although not cooperating with the military, it was not far removed from Hydra.

Pepper then realized things weren't so simple. However, she wasn't just worried about herself; after all, Finney had just explained. The main reason was Tony.

  "Jarvis, find this person's file."

  "Yes, sir!"

Tony ordered Jarvis sternly, while glaring at the innocent-looking Finney with displeasure. He had planned to accompany Pepper on a date today, but now that opportunity seemed lost.

He didn't ask Finney where he got this information; after all, it wasn't the first time this had happened. Finney always seemed to know a lot of highly confidential information inexplicably.

Then, he thought about Bucky's situation and hesitated whether to ask Finney for help.

After such a long investigation, he still hadn't found Bucky's whereabouts; after all, he was frozen again, inactive, and therefore, there was no information.

He then reviewed the plot and pondered the issue of the eighth skill...
