Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: AN OLD FRIEND

On a planet, filled with different terrains and areas, the sky was rainbow like in color and everything on the planet could only be described as beautiful. Towering trees and blooming flowers that probably hadn't been found could be seen everywhere, icy terrains, glaciers, volcanoes, and even deserts were located in a lot of sectors on the planet, terrains were different species and classes of beasts adapted and lived.

Not too far from these towering meadows, terrains and beasts stood a great wall, with a black blue color and stripes of white at the rims surely not made with one material but a mixture of extremely strong coarse minerals encasing a city the size of a continent, looking at the wall would give anyone the shivers, anything or being that could build a structure of this magnitude would surely be extraordinary.

Some very humanoid beings stood at the top of this wall, by the sides of the large gate close to energy cannons filled with tremendous firepower. They were the inhabitants of the city and the planet if asked. They were "Dragons". They wore light armor that looked to be made from beast parts and they both had dark silver scales running from their elbow to their wrists, one of them had long flowing dark silver hair down to his waist by name Rhea and the other short silver hair by name Fling. Their dark silver hair indicated that they had reached the level of transcendent dragons, a tier just below the level of dragon lord. They were the highest ranking guards on the gate side of the wall and the highest rank that could be found on the great wall.

"Fling, you know King Seredan told us to take the protection of this wall seriously and you are… I don't even know what you're doing." Rhea whined.

"Stop being such a crybaby Rhea, he never said we couldn't have a little fun." Fling replied. Rhea sighed and kept looking out in the distance. As dragons, especially transcendent were superhuman in every aspect so he could see extremely far in the distance and that's when he saw something or someone he had never seen before walking towards the gate. A humanoid figure with smooth snow white fur and flowing white mane wearing a white trouser and having the face of a tiger with short black stripes by the side of its face, his eyes were a white with a yellow dot in the centre.

"It's a beast." Rhea said shakily. "But why am I nervous, am a transcendent dragon but just looking at this creature I feel choked." She thought.

"Fling!" She shouted in a hushed tone.

"What Rhea I just…. Oh my God what is that" Fling gasped.

"Rhea why didn't you inform me since that a beast was incoming"

"I was just about to….."

"Hey! beast!" Fling shouted in a thunderous voice. What business do you have here?

There was no reply from the humanoid beast. Instead it kept coming forward.

"I won't ask again."

Still there was no reply but a smile which Rhea could see clearly. The smile sent shivers down her transcendent spine. The confidence coming off this beast was scary and she was even having her doubts.

"Okay that's it." Fling grunted in frustration. He stretched his right hand forward and started doing something that no one could see but only feel, the power of gravity. The humanoid beast seemed to stop in its tracks a little.

"Impressive. I don't think I've come across this ability before but Feng can't be stopped this easily." He muttered and easily broke through.

Rhea was both amazed and terrified, a beast that could only be held by Fling's gravity ability for just a second. Why hadn't she heard of or seen this beast before?

Fling though didn't relent, he kept adding more force but the beast just kept walking on until eventually he was forced to jump down from the wall. He landed with earth shattering force and created a crater beneath him. Rhea joined him but landed with more subtlety.

They were about 50 metres away from the beast that surprisingly stopped in his tracks.

"Who or what the hell are you!" Fling blasted exploding with energy.

"Fling I think you should calm down."

"It seems like your king doesn't tell you about me and that's why you disrespect me you transcendent. Well that doesn't matter cause I came to see him."

"How dare you furry beast challenge my power!" Fling shouted in a battle cry. He was out for blood. He blasted off with power, breaking the ground beneath him and lunging for the beast with a fist filled with draconic energy, distorting the space around him.

The fist clashed with its target and the shockwave shook the ground breaking it piece by piece. When the area was clear, the outcome wasn't what Rhea and other wall guards who had gathered were expecting. Fling's fist had been caught by the beast, and the energy in his fist had died down.

"But…. how?" Fling muttered shakily. His knees were buckling under the pressure exuding from this beast. The confidence he once had some moments ago had disappeared. But he wouldn't beg, he was proud and that was the wrong thing to be right now.

Feng gazed at him and chuckled sarcastically. "Am not just any beast, I am Feng, the primordial white tiger and am just gonna show you a pinch of my power."

"Oh no, Fling's in trouble" Rhea gulped.

"We gotta help him." Rhea said and tried to move but she couldn't.

"You're quite the foolish one if you think you're capable of that." Feng mocked his index finger yellow with pure energy.

He clenched it and smashed it into Fling's abdomen. The raw power from the strike was exhilarating and sent him crashing into the near indestructible wall, creating very few cracks.

"Seredan wouldn't blame me for a few cracks on his wall and a few injured dragons. Would he..... Nah, he wouldn't."

He moved like a blur and bodies kept falling without standing again. He eventually reached Rhea's side and hesitated.

"I would have left you because you had shown some fear but that wouldn't be fair." Feng said, his index already glowing with energy but a little lower this time.

As he struck, instead of striking a body he felt a strong finger grab his. The finger was swirling with black and white aura contrasting to Feng's yellow. "He's gotten stronger." Seredan thought.

"Who's this? Only a dragon lord should be able to stop my finger but with at least his whole fist but this dragon caught it with... don't tell me it's…." Feng pondered in his sea of thoughts.

"Feng, why are you hurting my people? Did they offend you?" a deep voice asked. The voice seemed to jog his memory and his aura dissipated. He looked up to the face that stopped his strike and it was indeed an old friend.

"Seredan?" Feng glanced at the intimidating figure of the primordial dragon, his long white hair with significant streaks of black flowing down to the centre of his back, his eyes white just like that of his old friend but the dot in his eyes were a little bigger, a mixture of black and gold color. Surprisingly, he was wearing a black suit with a white turtleneck on the inside, meaning his scales weren't visible. He looked like he had just come out of a banquet.

Seredan scanned the area where his dragons had just been bullied with a frown and just sighed. "You have a whole lot of explaining to do, old friend."

The words 'old friend' startled Rhea a little but she was still a bit weak and scared to show her surprise. A beast that could knock out even transcendents with a single blow was their King's old friend. If she was a reporter, she was sure this was going to be the hottest topic for weeks. This beast reminded her that she still needed to grow stronger. Who knew if there were other beasts at his level, Seredan could be away at any time. Who would then be able to protect their gargantuan city?

Feng glared at his old friend for a while. "You look different, Seredan."

Seredan gave a warm smile. "I could say the same for you."

Let's have our little chat inside my….

"Fortress?" Feng added.

"Yeah, what you said." The two then jumped into the city space, Seredan using a flying ability while Feng used his wind powers to soar through the air. Dragons with healing abilities then came to treat the injured dragons.
