Nora's POV
"Didn't you say the enchantments on the Shadowhaven door were changed specifically to keep you out?"
James raises an eyebrow and settles back into the couch cushions, his hand instinctively moving to the bandaged wound across his abdomen.
"They were."
"So how exactly do you plan to get inside?"
"I won't be walking through physically." I step out of the living room and head toward my barely used dining room to gather what I need.
"You're planning to astral project," James states, and I give him a confirming nod. "Are you certain that's wise? You've told me before how much it drains you, and you're running on no sleep, your nerves are shot, and you bled heavily yesterday."
"Not nearly as much as you did," I shoot back, though I realize my logic doesn't make sense in this context. "Besides, I'll manage just fine. My familiars will guard my physical body to prevent anything from slipping inside—"
"Except me."
