Nora's POV
"Nora, wake up." James's warm palm settles on my shoulder, his touch gentle but firm. "Your friends are here."
I force my eyes open and push myself upright, muscles protesting as I stretch my arms overhead. "I didn't mean to drift off."
"You needed the rest."
We're both tucked beneath the covers, fully clothed. I hadn't realized exhaustion was pulling at me until I collapsed beside him earlier.
"Yeah, I suppose I did." I swing my legs out from under the blanket, disturbing Rhianna who shoots me an annoyed glare before curling back into a ball. My bare feet hit the cool hardwood as I pad downstairs. I reach the front door just as Ophelia and Charlette approach the porch, with Gideon trailing close behind.
"I came as quickly as possible." Charlette pulls me into her embrace, her familiar lavender scent wrapping around me. "How are you holding up, darling?"
"Could be better." I step aside to let everyone inside. "Where are Jill and Reyna?"
