Nora's POV
"Nora needs to rest," Gideon announces, lowering his arms after casting protective wards around my house. "We should head out and give her some peace." His gaze finds mine across the kitchen, and I offer him a grateful nod before sinking deeper into my chair. We've just returned inside and gathered around my cramped kitchen table. It won't be long before Tim starts interrogating me about the red flames I conjured during the spell.
That conversation can wait forever, as far as I'm concerned. Though something tells me my real nature will surface whether I want it to or not.
Knowing my fortune, it'll happen sooner rather than later.
"I'm drained but wired at the same time," Jill admits, propping her chin on her hands.
"This should calm your nerves." Reyna adjusts the heat under the kettle just as it begins to steam.
"Please tell me it doesn't taste like that awful cleansing brew," Jill complains, scrunching her face in disgust.
