Jill slips her arm through mine as we make our way toward the celebration, and I gesture for Katherine to catch up with us. The Shadowhaven and its adjoining Academy always carry that haunting gothic atmosphere, but tonight everything has been transformed for the Feast. The transformation will remain until we celebrate Harvest. Moon-charged crystals and vessels filled with blessed water line the courtyard pathway, absorbing the full moon's powerful energy.
The air practically hums with magical energy, and I can sense that we all feel its pull. This electric atmosphere fills me with a rush of excitement, making it almost easy to pretend that everything in my world is perfectly normal.
