Chapter 31 - Chapter 31:The Queen of Wrath,Abandoning the Orignal Body

Chapter 31: The Queen of Wrath, Abducting the Original Body!

"I've heard of that incident; it caused a sensation across the entire Public Safety circle in Japan at the time," Himeno remarked with a sigh. "To have even a sliver of negative emotion amplified to the point of losing control... I suppose that's exactly what one should expect from the Wrath Devil."

Hayakawa Aki remained silent, but after hearing the descriptions of both the Future Devil and the Wrath Devil, he felt even more certain that the Fox Devil was the better choice. In the original story, Aki's contract with the Future Devil came at almost no cost, but with Otonashi Chiya's transmigration, he was determined to change Aki's fate. Signing a contract with the Future Devil now wouldn't be cost-effective; the price would likely be as severe as it was for those previous two hunters.

Furthermore, the Future Devil's power was purely supportive. Aside from seeing a few seconds into the future, it provided no actual combat capability, making the contractor's own physical skills paramount. Aki's current martial arts and combat experience were far inferior to his level in the original main storyline—where he had three more years of experience and was a disciple of Kishibe. Thus, the Future Devil's power would be too redundant for the current Aki.

"I understand. But still, let me go meet the Wrath Devil," Chiya said, lost in thought.

Aside from the Wrath Devil, there weren't any other devils in Kyoto Public Safety that piqued his interest. He needed to meet her in person to understand the specific situation.

"Follow me then," Fujii Atsuko said, leading the way.

Soon, they arrived at the door of the room where the Wrath Devil was "contained." Atsuko opened the door, and the four of them entered together. Since Atsuko hadn't mentioned that the Wrath Devil was a humanoid type, Chiya was slightly taken aback when he saw her.

The Wrath Devil possessed exquisite features and wore a long golden gown. She was tall with a commanding figure, her blood-red hair cascading down, and her pupils were as beautiful as flawless rubies. She sat with her legs crossed upon a blood-colored throne, her bare feet as white as curdled jade, exuding a natural aura of a queen.

"I didn't expect a humanoid devil..." Chiya murmured, slightly surprised.

"Wrath Devil, someone wants to talk to you about a contract," Atsuko announced.

However, the Wrath Devil ignored Atsuko entirely. Her attention was completely fixed on Otonashi Chiya's eyes.

"Those eyes... what extreme rage they hold!" the Wrath Devil exclaimed in awe.

Because awakening the Sharingan requires a certain level of stimulation—and upgrading from a single tomoe requires experiencing extreme negative emotions—it usually stems from witnessing the death of a loved one, which generates intense anger and hatred. The Mangekyo Sharingan, "Kamui," is no different. Consequently, the Wrath Devil, who was hyper-sensitive to anger, was instantly captivated by Chiya's eyes.

The key reason for her shock was that this human possessed eyes filled with ultimate rage, yet his mind had not been eroded by them! This overturned her perception of humanity. In her understanding, humans were creatures that lost all reason once their anger reached its peak—a trait she despised.

In reality, these Mangekyo Sharingan weren't awakened by Chiya himself, so the "rage" they carried had nothing to do with him; naturally, he remained unaffected.

"Are you talking about my eyes?" Chiya didn't react immediately. After a moment, he realized why the Wrath Devil was having such a strong reaction—it was likely related to the "mechanics" of the Sharingan.

"How? How can you maintain your sanity? You are clearly enraged to the absolute limit!"

The Wrath Devil was obsessed with this discovery. In the blink of an eye, she was standing directly in front of Otonashi Chiya, staring intensely into his eyes at point-blank range.

Himeno, Aki, and Fujii Atsuko were all startled by this sudden movement. They instinctively tensed up, dropping into defensive stances.

"What do you think you're doing?" Himeno warned, her voice sharp.

Chiya alone remained unfazed. He had clearly tracked the Wrath Devil's movement and sensed no malice coming from her. The Wrath Devil completely ignored Himeno; in her eyes, it was as if only Chiya existed.

"You ask me why, but I don't know either..." Chiya couldn't give her an answer. He couldn't reveal the truth, as he would never disclose anything related to his System to the outside world.

However, the Wrath Devil didn't care about the reason. She only knew that this human youth's sanity was immune to the influence of rage, and that was all that mattered to her!

"I will enter into a contract with you. My condition is that I will follow you at all times, in this form..."

As soon as she spoke, the throne behind her transformed into a beam of bloody light and merged into her body. Her body began to change simultaneously, morphing into a gold-and-red double-edged longsword. The throne served as a "scabbard," and the blade sheathed itself within.

For now, call it the "Blade of Wrath."

"Let me reside within the palm of your right hand; you may call upon my power whenever you wish," the Blade of Wrath spoke. She wanted to pursue the dream she had long desired through this human boy!

"Fine." Chiya had no reason to refuse.

He had discovered that his Mangekyo Sharingan could actually absorb negative emotions! When the Wrath Devil transformed just now, she emitted a trace of rage; he gave it a try, and his eyes absorbed it instantly. However, this also consumed his ocular power and life force.

Overall, the power of the Wrath Devil undoubtedly provided a massive boost to his strength. Moreover, he didn't have to worry about his sanity being compromised; the only downside was a greater burden and dependency on his "Vitality" attribute. But no matter how you looked at it, this was far superior to relying on a regular katana. He happened to be in dire need of a suitable weapon.

"The contract is established."

With those words, the Blade of Wrath shrank and flew into the palm of Chiya's right hand. A miniature blood-red seal in the shape of the sword appeared on his palm.

Fujii Atsuko, standing right beside him, found it utterly inconceivable. The previous person—and the only one before now to contract with the Wrath Devil—had only gained a fraction of her power. In contrast, Otonashi Chiya had walked away with the devil's actual physical body!

More importantly, that previous person had lost their mind after only using a fraction of her power a few times. Could this boy really handle the full power of the original body without something going wrong?

Aki felt a sincere admiration for Chiya. The Wrath Devil was terrifyingly strong at first glance, yet Chiya had essentially claimed her entire being. Still, he worried whether Chiya's mind would be affected; he hoped there wouldn't be a repeat of the tragedy that befell the previous contractor.

Himeno, meanwhile, marveled: "As expected of Otonashi-kun. You're amazing—you literally just abducted the devil girl's entire body!"
