Chapter 62 - [62] : Special Mechanism!

Scorchwind's new video dropped on his homepage, now boasting over ten million followers, and hit like a tactical nuke, sending shockwaves through the community.

The title was short and punchy: [Cracking Old Devil Medici's Ace in the Hole! Battlefield: Warhammer 40k's Hidden Core Gameplay: "Faith System" Deep Dive (Part 1: Khorne Edition)]

The video opened differently than usual. Instead of diving straight into gameplay footage, Scorchwind sat in front of his signature tech-heavy streaming setup. His expression was equal parts serious and pumped.

"What's up everyone, Scorchwind here."

He cut right to it, his tone unusually intense:

"The Battlefield: Warhammer 40k qualifiers just wrapped. Medici announced the 'special mechanism' would go live. Ever since, I've been obsessed with one question: what's he hiding that could flip this game on its head? New unit types? New map mechanics? A deeper equipment system?"

He let that hang in the air.

"After days of nonstop testing, basically living in this game, I cracked it. I found the first piece of Medici's special mechanism. And I'm convinced it's the most game-changing part of the whole system."

The screen behind him blazed to life, showing Battlefield: Warhammer 40k's iconic logo with its steel and gothic aesthetic. A bright red title appeared next to it: Faith System.

"That's right, the Chaos faction's Faith System!" Scorchwind's voice climbed with excitement. "Let me cut to the chase. This is a massively important system.

It's not just some add-on feature. It's going to run through the entire game, becoming one of its biggest draws. This is what sets it apart from every other shooter out there, the most unique, most immersive character progression system you'll ever see."

Hardcore players and Warhammer fans everywhere felt their pulse quicken.

"The Faith System builds on the groundwork Medici laid with his earlier release, The Gods." Scorchwind pulled up classic clips from The Gods short film. Four images flashed in rapid succession, morphing from beautiful to grotesquely twisted. "In that disturbing short, Medici revealed a non-physical dimension called the Warp. Four insanely powerful gods exist inside it."

He brought up a clean chart showing the four Dark Gods' symbols and spheres of influence:

· Khorne - Symbol: Brass Skull. Domain: Slaughter, Strength, Rage, War.

· Tzeentch - Symbol: Eye of Change. Domain: Knowledge, Schemes, Change, Fate.

· Nurgle - Symbol: Rotting Fruit. Domain: Life, Disease, Decay, Cycles.

· Slaanesh - Symbol: Twisted Ecstasy. Domain: Art, Sensation, Pleasure, Corruption.

"This is crucial background lore," Scorchwind explained. "These four deities are clearly humanity's Empire's main enemies. The reasons run deep. Could be humanity's extreme hatred of anything alien. Or maybe these four gods represent the universe's darkest impulses, each one hell-bent on corrupting everything they can reach."

"The new Faith System centers around these four Dark Gods!" He got to the point. An abstract flow chart popped up on screen: Player → Specific Battlefield Actions → Attract Divine Attention → Unlock Legendary Quest Chain → Sign Contract → Become Chosen or Gain Divine Gifts.

"Here's the breakdown. Pull off specific battlefield moves that align with a god's tastes. Meet their hidden requirements, no in-game hints, by the way, and you'll catch their eye. That unlocks a unique legendary quest chain."

Scorchwind's tone swelled with pride. "Finish the quest chain and you earn the chance to sign a contract with that god. Once you're locked in, everything shifts: exclusive class options, completely new resource mechanics, unique progression rewards, and permanent faction locks. You can never go back to the Imperial side."

He slowed down, enunciating every word. "Right now, based on my own grinding and repeated testing, I've only managed to fully explore one trigger path. That's Khorne, the god of carnage and strength."

Scorchwind cued up footage from when he triggered the quest. He froze the frame at exactly 08:00. His kill counter jumped to precisely 88. A blood-red notification flashed on screen.

"Lock in these two numbers: 8 and 88." He circled them with a laser pointer. "Eight is Khorne's holy number. The trigger requirements are ruthless. Based on my testing, you need exactly 88 kills at exactly the 8-minute mark, within a 3-second window.

All in one match. Miss the timing or the kill count by even one, and the quest chain won't fire. The game must be running serious server-side checks to verify both conditions simultaneously."

The comment section erupted into walls of "???" and "Holy shit, this is that precise?"

"When you nail it, you get a legendary quest called 'The Eightfold Path.'" Scorchwind flashed his quest panel screenshot.

"The goal sounds straightforward and vicious, perfect for skilled players. Rack up over 888 skulls across your next 8 separate matches.

The skull count is weighted, though. Basic infantry is worth 1 skull, but elite units, vehicles, heroes, even Titans and Greater Daemons are worth way more, potentially 10, 50, or even 100 skulls each."

"Finish The Eightfold Path, and you earn the right to sign a Pact of Slaughter with Khorne."

Scorchwind's eyes lit up. "Once you sign, you unlock the exclusive Berserker class. You tap into the Blood God's Blessing progression tree. And yeah, you permanently leave the Imperial faction. This is a path that takes combat and destruction to the absolute extreme."

Near the end of the video, Scorchwind looked straight into the camera. "Listen, this is just scratching the surface. I'm betting Tzeentch, Nurgle, and Slaanesh each have totally different trigger conditions.

They're probably even weirder and more complicated. The depth and replay value of this Faith System blows past anything we expected.

This isn't just a shooter anymore. It's more like a dark fantasy RPG, wrapped in a galaxy-spanning war."

He leaned in closer. "How do you trigger the other three gods? Are their conditions also based on timing, specific numbers, and certain behaviors?

That's what we'll need to figure out together. Just remember: on the battlefields of Battlefield: Warhammer 40k, everything you do might be watched by those distant gods."

"I'm Scorchwind. See you out there."

Video end.

The entire Battlefield: Warhammer 40k player base lost their minds. The wider gaming world lit up with discussion. Scorchwind's breakdown officially pulled back the curtain on the mysterious Faith System.

More importantly, he'd given everyone a clear, testable example. Players immediately started combing through match records, trying to time kills at the eighth minute. Forums flooded with theories about the other gods' trigger conditions. Cryptic guides popped up everywhere.

The hunt was on.
