Lucy sat at the dinner table as her mom served some of her delicious burritos. Lucy looked at the food, no matter how tasty it was she didn't have an appetite right now. One of her classmates had asked about her brother, and ever since then her mood had been positively spoiled.
There was only one person who knew how it felt to have a sibling lost in the Dream Realm, and that was Rain. However, Rain didn't talk much at school, so her and Lucy never formed a connection, however the silent whispers about their dead or still sleeping siblings was constant.
Lucy had hope, her brother might've been stupid, weak, and pathetic at times, but she was still his sibling. Milo would come back home, she was sure of it. He still owed her a birthday and Christmas gift. He also needed to show the best games in the Dreamscape. He had so much left to do, so much left to teach her. Tears pricked at her eyes
Lucy's mom seemed to notice the somber expression on her face. She walked over and cupped her head, offering the grieving girl a soft smile
"You're thinking about him again aren't you" Lucy's mom voice was soothing, reassuring
"Y-yeah... I'm just scared" The girl leaned into her mom's embrace, silent tears flowing down her cheeks.
"We all are, but Milo still has a chance to come back, he wouldn't leave us behind like that"
"I know..." Lucy's voice choked "But still, what if he's out there slowly dying and we don't know"
Lucy's mom remained silent for what seemed like an infinity, then she whispered out.
"He'll come back to us"

Eva sat in the boundary between dream and reality, a tired expression on her face. Too much had changed in Shadow Slave, she had originally planned to stay on the story's path... that was until he appeared. He shouldn't have existed, he was never there in the Academy, never mentioned in the story.
The Spell spoke, its insidious voice seemed amused, however Eva had grown used to its voice, however it did take her by surprise when it struck up a conversation with her.
[You are peculiar... You do not belong on the tapestry of fate, and yet here you are, so poised to become involved in it's most complex weave]
Eva flashed a mocking smile, she had nothing else to her name besides the connections she made in the Dream Realm, she had made up a lie about her parents to Milo... she had lied to Milo quite a lot, about the rank and nature of her aspect.
Eva pulled her up runes describing her aspect, she still didn't understand what it was supposed to mean
Aspect: [Heiress of Infinity]
Aspect Rank: [Profane]
Aspect Description: [The Demon of Destiny could never beat the Demon of Fate. No matter how many branching roads one attempted to create, Fate would make sure that they all converged into one destination. The Demon of Destiny, in a desperate gamble to not fall behind, subdued two greater dimensional beings, knowing that the universal truths of this universe may not apply to them. You are one of the subdued]
Eva then looked down at her attributes
Attributes: [Stone Shell] [Fate's Mistake] [Veil of Infinity] [Spark of Divinity] [Creator's Embrace]
They hadn't yet evolved, however she had gained a new Aspect Ability
Aspect Abilities: [Primitive Weaver] [Void Sculptor]
Innate Ability: [Fatebreaker]
Eva had been brought into this world as the stereotypical fanfic protagonist, she was sure of it. She looked upwards, at seemingly nothing and spoke
"Are you enjoying this?"
The void didn't speak back, and she sighed
"Of course, that would be too crazy"
She was about to wake up either way, she had a lot of explaining to do for Milo, the adorable boy deserved it.

A sleeping pod hissed as it opened, a prosthetic hand shot out, grasping the side and lifting the young boy from within out. Milo was back home, he was really back home, not only that he was an Awakened.
He looked around, and then a sudden crash from the room above him made him slightly flinch, followed by a familiar voice screaming "Damnation"
Milo was relieved to know that Sunny had made it out, however that was the least of his concerns. A tired looking nurse opened the door, jumping at the sight of Milo.
"Ah, hello there, do you mind getting me some food?"

Nephis awoke in her sleeping pod, hurriedly rushing out. She needed to find Sunny, to apologize for having to use his True Name, she needed to make it up to him. She also needed to find Cassie and comfort the poor girl blind girl. A soft smile was on her normally expressionless face.
"Sunny, please give me a chance" The words were barely a whisper, softly spoken as to make sure that if he was somehow nearby he couldn't hear the command. The trio had managed to avoid a grim fate, and Nephis couldn't be happier.
What she did not know was that the tapestry of Fate was already adjusting itself, weaving new and more insidious plans for the Fated individual and the people around him. It then took a look at a jet black string in the middle of the golden strings, with hatred in it's movement, it worked to try and tear the string apart, however the string wouldn't budge.

Lucy's mom retracted her hug as her phone suddenly rang, as she listened to the call, her eyes widened, and her lips curled upwards. She was breathless, and Lucy only knew of one thing that could cause that.
"He lived" She softly whispered, grateful for her brother still being alive. She could only hope he had not changed too much in that year of being away.
