Arriving at the periphery of Planet XT781, the Interstellar battleship hovered, stationary in space. The battleship's broadcast rang out, directing all the students of the First Military Academy participating the the yearly assessment to gather in the battleship's transportation cabin.
Wu Zimo, who was standing at the observation deck and observing the cosmos, walked quickly to the transportation cabin in the bottom of the battleship when he heard the broadcast.
"A' Mo, where were you a moment ago?" Lyle shouted at Wu Zimo as soon as he entered the transportation cabin.
Although students were allowed to move about freely in the battleship, most of them stayed in the lounge for their final preparations. Wu Zimo, on the other hand, went missing after he greeted Lyle and the others, just as the battleship jumped through a wormhole. Right after he heard the call to assemble, Lyle was worried that the other wouldn't be found.
Wu Zimo left, of course, to see the universe for himself. As an antique from the twenty-first century, it would have been impossible to step through the universe then. If he didn't take a look, it would really be doing a disservice to himself.
However, it was only when Wu Zimo arrived at the observation deck that he noticed the constellations. In the dark universe, he could see some small light spots, a far cry from the pictures of starry skies he had seen before.
It really was very different. The ones he had seen in his previous life were pictures taken by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, and it was only so rich in color because it had been touched up by experts. The original was merely a black and white image, nothing more. The fact that a human's eyes weren't as light-sensitive as a telescope didn't even need to be mentioned.
"I didn't go anywhere. Everybody is here?"
However, even if the universe wasn't as amazing as he had imagined, when Wu Zimo stood on the observation deck and looked at the seemingly unchanging starry sky, this feeling of a human's insignificance and the magnificence of the universe was difficult to describe with pen and ink.
He raised his head to look around and saw that everyone was present. Wu Zimo nodded and searched for an empty space where they could see the transportation cabin's three-dimensional display.
The transportation cabin's huge three-dimensional display shook. Then, a soldier in military uniform, standing tall and straight, with a tense expression appeared in front of all the students.
Looking at the person displayed on the screen, all of the students in the transportation cabin stirred restlessly.
"It's actually Marshal da ren!"
"Ah! Male god!"
Even Wu Zimo was no exception. Like all the other groupies, his eyes shone brightly as he looked up at the Marshal on the screen.
"Wow, my family's male god is really the most handsome."
Wu Zimo's mutterings were only heard by the people beside him. Even Salah raised an eyebrow at him. It was only now that Salah finally became aware that Wu Zimo, who was normally lazy and light as a breeze and a floating cloud, was unexpectedly also Marshal Alman's fan.
"Cough." Aware that his behavior might frighten his little comrades, Wu Zimo coughed and pointed to the screen.
"The Marshal da ren seems to have something to say."
The commander of the Heaven's Wrath Corps, Scott, observed the mental states of the First Military Academy's students inside the transportation cabin through the display screen. Satisfied, he nodded. As far as the students who were a bit restless from his appearance were concerned, Scott's gaze shifted slightly. They hadn't been trained enough. After the assessment, he should discuss the problem with the director.
Scott's inner thoughts did not show on his face. The pressure from the powerful passing through the three-dimensional display, even though he wasn't physically present, could still make the students in the transportation cabin tense.
Scott didn't have any excessive words. His cold voice, deep and low, passed through the display screen and was transmitted to all of the students in the transportation cabin. "The First Military Academy of the Interstellar Federation's yearly assessment has officially started. May you all return with glory and honor."
"Yes!"
There was no need to excessively boost morale. The students, who were able to see the Marshal looked as if they had been injected with chicken blood. With great momentum, group after group went into the projection capsule and were propelled onto Planet XT781 from the battleship.
Turning off the screen in front of him, Scott turned his head to look at Rocard, who was next to him. "Was that fine?"
"It's fine, it's fine, of course it was fine. Hehe, with the appearance of Scott, the Interstellar's male god, all of the students would have undoubtedly been injected with chicken blood."
"Their determination is too unorganized." Unlike Rocard's grin, Scott's expression was still indifferent.
"...As I said, Scott, they're still young students. Your expectations shouldn't be too high." Hearing Scott's comment on the students, Rocard's head was full of black lines. Although, Rocard understood him. Calling those students rookies was bringing down the 'rookie' title.
Scott indifferently retracted his gaze, opened up a document, and continued with his unfinished work.
The projection capsules carrying the students of the First Military Academy rushed into Planet XT781's atmosphere like meteors. Only when they were about to reach the surface did the capsules stop in their paths and start to descend. Their landing was very stable, but for certain people, such as Wu Zimo, it almost made him vomit again.
"A' Mo, are you okay?" Lyle's complexion wasn't very good either, but when he looked at Wu Zimo, who was beside him, he saw that Wu Zimo's expression was even paler than his own.
Wu Zimo, who was propped up by Bit, pushed down the contents from his stomach and shook his head at Lyle. "I'm okay."
Wu Zimo knew that his body was very bad, but why does he feel like he was getting weaker and weaker? Try as he might, he still couldn't understand it, so he let it be. Waiting until he felt a bit better, he raised his head and looked at the situation around him.
"It seems like our luck is pretty good."
Zhang Ye and Baffil, who were in charge of investigating once they hit the ground, came back quickly and told them what they had discovered.
They had landed randomly in a very good location at the edge of a forest and next to a river. They didn't need to worry about their supply of water. They weren't like some other teams that had landed among rocks or deep in the forest, places that were deemed as 'pits'.
Wu Zimo looked up at the empty sky, grinned, then knelt down. He stretched out his right hand to his companions and crossed his index finger.
Wu Zimo's actions looked a bit vulgar, but since it was their commander's instruction, they had to follow suit.
Even Salah, whose lips were thinly pressed together, was pulled in by Lyle to squat next to Wu Zimo.
A group of nine people squatted on the ground, their heads bumping against one another. What they were discussing was not known. Up in space, in the Interstellar battleship's monitoring room, a large group of people in charge of monitoring the First Military Academy's students' school year assessment saw this scene on the display screen.
Normally, it was impossible for the top soldiers of the Heaven's Wrath Corps, like Da Li, to be so free, to remain only in charge of the monitoring via keeping watch over the safety of the students of the First Military Academy. However, it just so happened that the team had just completed a task, and took this assignment as their leisure time. Thus, they were given this easy task.
It wasn't a coincidence that the top soldiers could see Wu Zimo, as this was Rocard's doing. With Rocard, the gossip boss, his subordinate's nature could easily be imagined. What Wu Zimo himself wasn't aware of was that his name was already familiar to a group of people in the Heaven's Wrath Corps.
Now, there was a chance to see the student who dared to take liberties with the Marshal in front of them. If they didn't stand around in a circle and watch, it would really be a shame for the inner passionate gossipers in their hearts.
"Is this the Wu Zimo that dared to take liberties with the Marshal?"
"He's a little weak."
"Right, right. Just randomly landing once would make him pale, his physique is like a guide's."
"Hey, Xiao Ba, you can't let big sister Mia hear that, watch out for her. Hey hey hey....."
"...What the fuck! If you tell Elder sister Mia, I'll tell her how often you peek at her!"
"Stop making noise!"
The scuffle that almost happened in the monitoring room was stopped by a loud roar from the team leader, Da Li. Normally, it was fine to fight, but they were currently inside the monitoring room and couldn't afford to have a fight break out between two senior sentinels.
"Hey, what are they doing?" One of the team members, who had been attentively watching the group of nine squatting on the ground, asked curiously.
There were winged surveillance insects, but with Wu Zimo's grouping huddling around like that, the winged surveillance insects couldn't project anything.
Wu Zimo, who was on Planet XT781, had gotten information of the planet after breaching the male god's rear court. At the same time, he had discovered that all of the teams in the assessment were being monitored by flying surveillance insects.
Besides recording the students' assessments, it was also to ensure their safety.
Wu Zimo had done this face-losing action because he wanted to do bad things. That's right, he was sending the information he had gotten regarding Planet XT781 from the Heaven's Wrath Corps to his companions.
Lyle and the others saw the details about Planet XT781 on their light brains. They all looked at Wu Zimo, who was laughing and looking especially pleased with himself, as if they were looking at a god.
"A' Mo, you....."
"Shh!"
"Shh!"
Before Lyle could ask where these materials came from, Wu Zimo stopped him. He saw Wu Zimo point a finger up towards the sky.
The people present weren't fools. Although Wu Zimo didn't make it clear, they also knew what Wu Zimo's gesture meant and all nodded tacitly.
"If possible, try to memorize the information." They only had one week for the assessment, and didn't have much time.
The others nodded clearly, opening their light brains and committing the materials on it to memory. Wu Zimo wasn't idle either. Through coordinates displayed by the light brain, he quickly found the location of the group of Dimensional Zergs nearest to their team.
Waiting until the others had almost memorized the information, Wu Zimo said, "I just looked, and there are two pairs of coordinates for the group of Dimensional Zergs closest to us. One has a total of ten, and the other only has five."
Seeing everybody looking at him, Wu Zimo continued to speak: "Right now, are we going towards the group of ten, or are we going to the group of five that's slightly farther away?"
Although the way that commander Wu Zimo had done things was a little confusing, he didn't like to make speeches, rather he was more inclined to listen to everyone's opinion.
There was a group of ten close by and a group of five a bit further out.
If it was a hot-blooded, arrogant team choosing, then they would definitely choose the group of ten. Young people had the drive, but were also more likely to make mistakes because of that drive.
This was the reason that Scott had decided on making students face off against the Dimensional Zergs for the school year assessment.
What he needed was someone who could plan, then take action; soldiers who would take the big picture into consideration, and not just a group of hot-blooded, brainless fools.
