Chapter 255 - Encounter With A Phantom Troupe Member - Chapter 255

The next morning, in a big room with minimal furnishing, Conrad smiled and nodded to Leorio.

"Good choice," he said.

Leorio nodded.

Conrad then started talking about the basics of nen, the Four Principles, and alike. Leorio, other than listening, just nodded and took some notes.

In a sense of being a student, he was a great one. The moment that he started listening to the words of Conrad, his eyes, demeanor, and everything changed, and he entered full student mode.

The basic principles were, as the name suggested, pretty basic, and it did not take long for Leorio to understand them.

"Normally."

"It takes six months to one year of time to slowly open your pores to release your life energy, your aura."

Leorio nodded.

"I guess you have some other way for it."

Conrad nodded.

"Right."

"There is also a shocking method to awaken your pores."

"I will be simply sending my aura to shock your pores open; nothing too complicated."

Leorio grinned and touched his head helplessly.

"It sounds dangerous."

Conrad smirked.

"It is dangerous if the initiator is a weak nen user."

"But I am not."

"Still, this is a decision you need to take."

"We can go both ways."

Leorio took a deep breath and put his hand on his chin as he thought deeply. In a moment or two he smiled.

"I think you should do what you need to do."

"I am not afraid of such things."

Despite saying these words, the behavior of Leorio was similar to that of somebody entering his first surgery.

Conrad laughed.

"Okay then."

"Take your suit off."

Leorio nodded and then took off his clothes, only the upper body.

"Come closer to me and turn your back and calm yourself."

"It will be over quick."

Leorio took a deep breath again and again to calm himself down and do what he told.

Conrad then hovered his right hand on the back of Leorio and closed his eyes for a moment.

"Yeah."

"For me it is pretty easy."

With a simple use of nen, he found the pores of Leorio with ease, and then he emitted some nen to open them.

Two seconds later, Leorio felt a huge amount of heaviness at the back, and then he opened his eyes to see his aura for the first time.

"Congrats," said Conrad.

"All of your pores are opened, including your eye pores; now you can see your aura."

Leorio nodded.

"It feels different and also great..."

"But it feels like I am leaking it."

Conrad laughed.

"Great observation."

"Now, I want you to take a natural position and then calm yourself as much as you can."

Leorio did what he told instantly.

"Now, I want you to imagine that you are holding on to your aura, spreading it around your body. Try to imagine it like you are wearing weightless clothes and covered by some sort of invisible blanket."

Leorio took a natural form like Gon and Killua did as Wing told them to do and then closed his eyes.

It took him ten minutes to finally achieve the "Ten" state, compared to Gon and Killua, who were able to do it instantly.

But Conrad expected such a result.

As Wing said, Gon and Killua are one-in-a-million talents; they were monsters when it comes to natural ability.

In his eyes, Leorio is higher than Zushi but lower than Gon and Killua; he should be around one in a million.

"It feels much greater now," Leorio said as he looked and observed his aura.

"I feel much more powerful and energized."

Conrad smirked.

"It is natural you feel that way."

"Now, you are in the state of "Ten"."

"Before, we trained other basics of nen."

"I want you to work on this state, meditate, and get used to your nen for about two weeks."

"You need to put at least four or five hours of meditation training into this."

Leoiro looked at Conrad and nodded.

"I was skeptical when you told me all about this..."

"But now that I can feel it on my own."

"I understand why you put it like that when you first spoke to me."

"This is something I have never expected to exist."

Conrad nodded.

"You are just starting out."

"Work on the theories I gave you and get used to 'Ten' and keep on meditating and training."

"I will come back to see your progress two weeks later."

"I will decide to teach you more after your progress."

Leorio nodded.

"Okay."

Conrad then left the house and went to a restaurant to eat some food.

While he ate and drank to his heart's content, he smiled.

"He is not bad at all."

"When I spoke to him, I remember my past friends from Earth."

"Leorio is much more of a human, similar to people from Earth, compared to all the other people."

"His backstory is also much more ordinary compared to Killua, whose family are assassins; Gon, with a weird father as a hunter and most likely an ancestor that lives in the Dark Continent; and Kurapika, with different eyes and the target of a genocide."

As Conrad ate, he felt something.

He did not look at it and then kept on eating.

"Oh..."

"That is somebody I did not expect to see at all."

Shalnark Ryusei.

"So, he is somebody who prefers to eat good food and pay for it."

"I expected him to move with other troupe members."

Conrad saw the blonde phantom troupe member in the corner of the restaurant eating and drinking alone.

If he did not know about him and he was not a nen user, there would be no chance for Conrad to understand that this young blonde man was from Meteor City and one of the founding members of the Phantom Troupe.

"I guess."

"I should leave."

Conrad knew that in this state, only combatant members may have any chance to harm him; people like Shalnark, Pakunoda, Kortopi, and Shizuku would die in just three to five seconds if he wanted to harm them.

He believed he could easily take care of Phinks and Uvogin too: Uvogin for his battle style and Phinks because he believed he should not be much different than Uvogin due to him being an enhancer.

The only dangerous members to him were Feitan due to his speed and Chrollo due to his intelligence.

But, in all those situations and battle scenarios, he still knew that if he wanted to escape, there was nothing anybody from the Phantom Troupe could do to kill him.
