Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Back to Sweet Home

The sun was slowly setting, and the endless golden fields of the farm spread out before Ezekiel like a shining sea. The wind gently ruffled his hair as the distant forest chirped. Everything was as he remembered it from his childhood—and yet something was different. Something mysterious vibrated in the air, and he felt in his heart that everything was different now.

Ezekiel Morrissey, the only son on the farm, stood at the porch railing, watching the horizon. His father, Gerard Morrissey, a tall, charismatic man who managed all the work on the farm, now stood by the tractor, looking out at the sunset. His mother, Helena Morrissey, sat in a wheelchair in the corner of the porch, holding an old diary in her hand that kept the family history. Her eyes were wise and sharp, as if she saw every little move her son made.

"Are you okay, son?" — Gerard asked, the sun's rays highlighting his wrinkles and exhaustion.

Ezekiel just nodded, his gaze fixed on the forest. He couldn't reveal what he planned, couldn't reveal his knowledge of the future. His heart was filled with secrets, and he carefully considered every step he took. Not even his father and mother could guess which path he had chosen.

The next four months were about preparation. He didn't just perfect his physical strength and agility—every run, every jump, every climb was a preparation for the challenges ahead. He ran fast through the fields, leaped onto the branches of the acacia trees, practiced his spins and landings on the rocks. He knew that nothing on the island would be easy, and every small move would matter.

In the evening, when the farm had fallen silent and only the distant owls could be heard, Ezekiel sat on the porch next to his mother. Helena squeezed his hand gently, and spoke softly. Gerard nodded silently, looking into the distance, as if sensing his son's determination. But neither of them could have guessed that Ezekiel's heart was full of plans and strategies for how he would direct future events.

"It's okay, son," Helena said, her gaze turning to her father. "Just be careful… the world is a tough place, even for a Morrissey."

Ezekiel smiled faintly, but didn't answer. He couldn't tell the truth. No one could know why he trained so hard, why he watched every little detail, why he prepared in secret. The peace of the farm was sweet, but his soul already carried the fire of a warrior inside.

As the sun disappeared over the horizon, the light of the stars appeared in the sky. Ezekiel took a deep breath, and it felt as if the entire weight of the world and all its possibilities were resting on his shoulders. But he was ready. He wants not only to survive, but to shape his destiny, to work on the future in secret, and to exact a revenge that is both sweet and bitter that no one can foresee.

And the Morrissey family, even if they don't know what is going on in the boy's heart, were simply there—in the background, in their quiet, safe home, while the future waited for the new Ezekiel to be born.
