Synopsis
Riley Blake grew up believing he was ordinary—quiet, observant, and used to bearing responsibility for everything . No matter where he stood, trouble always seemed to find its way into his hands. It wasn’t until the truth surfaced that his life truly unraveled. Exchanged at birth, Riley is the *real* young master of the powerful Reynolds family—yet when he finally returns to them, there is no warmth waiting. His real family sees him as an outsider. Every mistake, every conflict, every misfortune somehow becomes Eli’s responsibility, while the one who took his place is cherished and protected. That person is **Liam**—the boy raised as the Reynolds’ precious young master, born into poverty but given everything Riley never had. Loved by the family, admired by peers, and shielded from consequences, Liam’s life seems perfect… until a dream changes everything. In that dream, Liam realizes he is living inside a novel—and that he is destined to be the *fake young master*. In order to prove his dream wrong , Liam begins searching for the real heir long before the truth is exposed. At first, he believes Riley might be a lost relative. Then a DNA test shatters reality. As Riley struggles under the rejection of his real family and the weight of accusations he never deserves, fate quietly moves in the shadows . What begins as coincidence slowly turns into inevitability. This is a long journey of misunderstandings, quiet devotion, emotional growth, and hard-earned affection—where fate is cruel, identities are questioned, and love burns slowly but relentlessly across their life.

Chapter 1 - The weight of silence

Riley Blake had learned early in life that silence was not weakness.

It was survival.

When you spoke, people twisted your words. When you explained, they heard excuses. When you defended yourself, they called it guilt. Somewhere between childhood and adolescence, Riley understood a simple truth—when everyone had already decided you were at fault, nothing you said would save you.

So he stopped trying.

The café was loud that afternoon, steam hissing from the espresso machine, cups clinking against saucers, customers talking over one another as if the world would end if they paused for breath. Riley moved through it all quietly, wiping counters, refilling sugar jars, collecting empty plates. He had learned how to make himself small without shrinking entirely.

"Table six needs their bill," the manager called.

Riley nodded , his response a mere inclination of head .

As he passed, his reflection flickered briefly in the glass display—golden hair covering the entire forehead, round glasses to hide his eyes, and a uniform that was thin from far too many washes but meticulously pressed . His expression was neutral. Not unhappy. Not content. Just… contained.

When his shift finally ended, his feet ached in that dull, familiar way that came from standing too long and resting too little. He washed his hands, changed out of the café uniform, his mind already calculating. The pay from the cafe was barely covering the rent.

He checked the time. He was late . He had to run fast otherwise the 2nd manager will cut his pay. He was already getting a measley pay . If it is reduced more he will be unable to save any money before schools start next week .

He felt the familiar , jagged urge to run past the bus stop_and to run until the city light fadded along with his responsibilities and their shared poverty couldn't find him. But Riley wasn't a runner . So he stayed. He couldn't end up like that man _ who had walked out, who had left them to drown. He hated that man .

He refused to become like him. He had stepped into the world of ' not enough " at the age of 12 . And it taught him one thing : presistance . In a world of power and money, the only thing a person like him has was the ability to endure. He will endure everything until the day he doesn't need to endure anything.

He checked his phone . It was already 8 :30 , he was thirty minutes late. The manager was definitely going to chew his ear off. He had to run.

He sprinted the remaining blocks , arriving at the bar out of breath, his lungs burning.

The bar was already alive when Riley arrived. The atmosphere was the polar opposite of the cafe.

Music thumped low and steady, not loud enough to drown conversation but heavy enough to sink into your chest. The air was thick with smell of citrus, expensive wine, and the bitter tang of spilled beer.

He directly went to the locker room . He changed into his black shirt and apron in the narrow staff room, tying the strings with practiced movements and came out. He scanned the floor for the manager but seeing the coast clear Riley exhaled a jagged breath and went to the counter.

The bartender ,Henry was busy making drinks . He glanced at Riley flushed face , " Kid , Do you have a fever ?Your face is red."

" I am fine . I just ran here. That's,why. "

Riley replied his voice hoarse from the run.

"That's good. You are later than usual. What happened?" , asked Henry .

" The cafe was short handed ", Riley replied "More customers than usual."

Henry just nodded his head ,sliding a tray toward him , "" To table seven. Go."

Riley picked the tray and started walking . He moved through the crowd , dodging flailing arms, expensive perfumes and loud People who were busy dancing without a care of world. At table seven a young couple were practically glued to each other, arms draped over, kissing and sucking each other.

' Go , get a room ' Riley sneered inside his mind .He set the drinks quickly with a soft click on the table . Before they could notice he vanished from there , retuning to the counter quickly.

However his tiny luck had run out .This time the manager was waiting for him at the counter , arms crossed.

" I am sorry. " Riley said immediately, the words familiar and hollow.

The manager wasn't looking musch angry. " This is the last time I am letting you off if you are late another time you will be fired immediately. I don't care if the city is drowning." He waved his hand in annoyance.

Riley apologized again and picked the tray.

" Dropped this . Grab two bottles of usual wine for private room 207. And mind your manners . If they asked you to drink, don't make a fuss and drink quietly." , said the manager , " And don't speak unless you are spoken to. Understood. Now go ."

Riley just nodded his head , grabbed the chilled wine bottle and service clothe . As he climbed the stairs, the noise of the bar faded , replaced by something sharper.

The door to room 207 was open .

A roar of Mocking laughter and cheering sound silled into the hallway . Riley stopped into the shadows of corridor. He knew who was the cause of this .Through the gap in the door , he saw a circle of men , wearing expensive suit. There face flushed with alcohol and predatory delight. They were surrounding someone _ someone small.

The comments hitting the wall were vile, spoken in some in some pleasure house rather than a bar. Riley was disgusted just after listening to them for a minute . What would be the other person feeling right now.

They were forcing the person to drink . There words growing more aggressive and indecent by the second.

Riley's hand tighten around the neck of wine bottle ,until his knuckles turned white. He knew how this work . If steps in right now , he will lose this job. He would be the trouble maker again. Without given a chance for explaination.

He pulled out his phone and dailed the emergency line . His voice a steady whisper as he reported the ongoing harassment in the bar . After giving the address he hung up, intending to wait for the authorities outside in the safety of hall.

He looked again inside, shoes tapping against the floor. His Patience growing thin. Then he heard a sob _ muffled and broken

He couldn't take it anymore and decided to butt in.

He didn't think about anything, his job , his saving. He reached out , grabbed the handle , and swung the door wide .
