"And why do you insist on hunting ghoul kakuhou?"
She murmured the words unconsciously.
"How are you here?"
Fushimi Kyo's voice suddenly came from behind her.
"Ah!"
Touka let out a startled cry and rolled on the spot, retreating to the corner of the wall as she immediately took a defensive stance, staring at him nervously.
"I asked you a question," Fushimi Kyo said coldly.
"Why are you here?"
If she had merely followed him, that could still be forgiven; it at least meant she harbored no malicious intent.
But if these people had been hired by Anteiku to assassinate him…
Then even if Touka were a classmate, even a friend, he would not hesitate.
After all, last time, this woman had truly wanted him dead.
"I I I was just curious about who you were going to meet."
Under Fushimi Kyo's icy gaze, Touka felt her scalp prickle. Even her speech became unsteady.
"Alright. You've seen everything now. Leave this place."
With that, Fushimi Kyo turned and walked toward the exit of the hall.
He believed her.
Touka might have a terrible temper, but she was straightforward to the core. She simply wasn't capable of lying and if she tried, he would see through it instantly.
"H-Hey! Fushimi Kyo, who are those people?"
Touka hurried after him.
"How would I know?" he replied calmly.
"It won't be long before someone comes and gives me that answer themselves."
As they spoke, the two of them arrived in the courtyard.
"You're not calling the police?"
"And you're not afraid of me?"
"You clearly know these people were killed by me, yet you're not surprised at all."
Fushimi Kyo suddenly stopped and turned to look at her with curiosity.
"I…"
Touka didn't know how to answer.
That's right she knew Fushimi Kyo's identity, knew many of his "glorious exploits."
But he didn't know hers.
In his eyes, they were just classmates.
She had appeared here, stumbled upon his killing scene and yet she wasn't afraid, nor did she call the police.
Why was she acting so calmly?
"Don't bother making excuses," Fushimi Kyo said lightly.
"Lying isn't something you're good at."
"Just like you know my background "
"I know yours just as well. In fact, I know you better than you know yourself."
"My understanding of Anteiku far exceeds what you can imagine."
Hearing this, Touka's expression darkened instantly.
Whoosh.
A dazzling ukaku spread open behind her, and her eyes turned into kakugan.
"How much do you know about Anteiku?" she demanded.
"What are you planning to kill me again?"
"If you attack me again…"
"I will kill you."
Clang
Bloodsong slid halfway out of its sheath.
A bone-chilling killing intent erupted from Fushimi Kyo's body, flooding the surrounding area for more than ten meters.
Under the pressure of that killing intent, Touka shuddered violently. Even her kagune trembled, on the verge of dispersing.
She swallowed hard.
At this moment, she could feel it
Fushimi Kyo was not joking.
"You knew it was me who attacked you last time, didn't you?" Touka asked quietly.
"Of course," he replied with a mocking tone.
"Why do you think I didn't kill you on the spot and only knocked you out?"
At those words, the ukaku behind Touka slowly dissipated, and her eyes returned to normal.
It wasn't that she had targeted Fushimi Kyo out of personal hatred.
It was just that Anteiku's importance to her was far too great; she couldn't allow even the slightest risk of exposure. That was why she had reacted so violently.
"Relax. I have no interest in harming Anteiku," Fushimi Kyo said calmly.
"Besides, the coffee your manager makes is genuinely delicious."
"If Anteiku were wiped out by the CCG, I'd actually feel a bit regretful."
He looked straight into Touka's eyes as he spoke.
"As for those ghouls, anyone who actively provokes me deserves to die."
"I've said everything that needs to be said."
"Now leave."
"Don't get in the way of my hunt."
With that, his figure flickered
and vanished.
Touka was left standing alone in the courtyard, staring blankly at the empty space where he had just been.
