Ultimate Boundless Qigong
Before Lan Daotianwu lay a scroll he had just copied by hand.
He set down his pen and stared at the wet ink on the page, his gaze deep in contemplation.
This was the "small assistance" the Great One had promised him before leaving.
To be honest, Lan Daotianwu did not lack cultivation techniques.
From a young age, he had access to the Dharma Sutra and the Imperial Ultimate Tome, true crystallizations of the wisdom of his predecessors. Not to mention the vast martial arts archives he could consult.
Yet even so, he had to admit
This Ultimate Boundless Qigong was indeed an extraordinary text.
It was not overwhelmingly powerful. In terms of wisdom and depth, it could not match the Dharma Sutra or the Imperial Ultimate Tome. Yet it still contained many lessons that could be borrowed.
But the most important point was
The threshold for Ultimate Boundless Qigong was incredibly low, almost unbelievably so.
Magnetic rotation was not a technique. It was an innate ability, something impossible to achieve through effort alone.
Without the corresponding talent, no matter how intelligent one was, one could never manipulate one's cells to generate magnetic rotation.
Such talent might grow with exposure to magnetic environments, but magnetic rotation remained a power possessed by only a rare few.
Yet Ultimate Boundless Qigong could break this limitation.
Its core was fascinating. Through ordinary martial Qigong that anyone could practice, one could steadily strengthen one's energy, spirit, and vitality.
Once a certain threshold was reached, the practitioner could simulate the effect of electric currents through Qigong, allowing them to overcome limits ordinary people could never surpass.
By generating electric currents without manipulating cells directly, one could passively stimulate their cells to produce energy.
Eventually, with sufficient mastery, the electric current would naturally evolve into true magnetic rotation.
This was the brilliance of the technique: it could turn ordinary people into magnetic powerhouses.
"Hmph, the wisdom of the ancients is truly unfathomable."
Lan Daotianwu exhaled slowly, flipping through the scroll, speaking under his breath.
For his past self, this text would have been of little use. He could not utilize the techniques within, nor did he need them to master magnetic rotation.
From his perspective, this book had limits.
The magnetic rotation simulated by its method could only reach roughly 500,000 units of power before hitting a ceiling. Beyond that, ordinary Qigong could not reach.
Magnetic rotation was a fundamental force of the universe. Human-created abilities could never truly replicate it.
So even for those who practiced Ultimate Boundless Qigong, only those with innate magnetic talent could achieve greatness.
Still, its wisdom earned Lan Daotianwu's respect. More importantly, he now needed this "beginner's guide."
Boom!
He punched the air, heat rising from the distorted air, sparks leaping between his fists. The destructive force was undeniable.
Yet…
This strike amounted to only 250,000 volts of modest energy.
Electric current could range from 10,000 volts to a million volts, analogous to magnetic rotation, yet incomparable in magnitude.
A million volts was enough for a human to reach the lowest level of magnetic rotation, paltry compared to cosmic power.
Electric current could be manipulated, added, or subtracted.
It was easy for ordinary people to overwhelm a "master" using electric currents. Even a fully mastered practitioner could only partially compensate for this limitation.
Energy reserves were finite. Even if Lan Daotianwu concentrated his power perfectly, the total output remained limited.
As the Great One had said, attempting to break through magnetic rotation solely through cellular acceleration was extraordinarily difficult.
Hence, Lan Daotianwu needed Ultimate Boundless Qigong. He needed to use Qigong to simulate electric currents and attempt to unlock the "Heavenly Lock" of this world.
"Hmph, it really isn't easy."
He watched sparks dance across his fingers, whispering to himself.
He had almost never experienced such "weak" power. Even at his lowest, magnetic energy flowed within him.
Yet this weakness was not entirely bad. True growth for a magnetic powerhouse came only through life-and-death struggles. Talent and fortune alone could not replace the lessons of facing mortality.
Perhaps this was one reason for his previous failure.
Yet in his past life, understanding this truth had come too late. A strong person who experienced defeat even once could be completely destroyed.
A faint, slightly insane smile crept across Lan Daotianwu's youthful, handsome face.
He imagined the precious feeling of walking the path of the ancients, of confronting life and death, and it exhilarated him.
Kibutsuji Muzan! Whoever you are, male or female, human or not!
Come fight me. Let me strike you down, or let you tear me apart. Let me taste defeat, let me learn the edge of life itself!
As his cells spun with emotion, a sound from outside snapped him out of the moment.
"Come in," Lan Daotianwu said calmly.
The paper sliding door of the inn opened. A middle-aged man knelt before him, showing deep respect.
"Master Lan, as you suspected, we have found someone attempting to uncover internal information about this matter."
"Oh? Who is it?" Lan Daotianwu asked, intrigued.
The man, Inuta, was one of Lan Daotianwu's new subordinates, formerly a servant of Major Kuroda.
There was no need to explain the process strength and reward, mastered correctly, could bend ninety percent of people to your will.
Show your power to those greedy fools and demonstrate the benefits of working for you. That was governance in essence.
"He is a young man, about twenty, wearing a black uniform and a strange overcoat."
Inuta glanced at Lan Daotianwu, who was dressed similarly a black coat over a black vest and pants. On a child, it looked almost comical, but he dared not speak. The last person who insulted Lan Daotianwu had ended up as a bloody mess.
"So, is he strong?"
Inuta hesitated. "I cannot judge his full strength, but he certainly does not have your presence, Master."
"So, we've caught a small fish," Lan Daotianwu said lightly, showing no disappointment.
Even if the target wasn't Muzan himself, there was an eighty to ninety percent chance he was connected.
Regardless of the relationship, Lan Daotianwu could gain valuable intelligence.
"Keep an eye on him. If necessary, detain him. In three days, if no other targets appear, I will speak to him personally."
"Understood," Inuta said respectfully, bowing.
The sliding door closed under an invisible force. Inuta quickly looked at the stack of bills before him, greed and joy in his eyes.
He hurriedly stuffed the money into his coat and left, colliding with a young girl in the process.
"Ah!"
The girl screamed, falling to the ground. Inuta cursed, gripping the money in his sleeve, glaring at the girl.
"Where did this brat come from? Didn't you see where you were going?"
"I-I'm sorry, Master Inuta! I'm the new maid," the girl stammered, kneeling.
A maid? A girl no older than fourteen? Inuta frowned but knew hiring staff was not his concern.
Still, the girl's strange white hair drew his attention longer than he intended. White-haired children were uncommon, after all.
He muttered under his breath but said nothing.
He left hurriedly, while the girl slowly lifted her head. Her expression twisted with restrained malice, a strange symbol appearing in her right eye.
Rustle…
The surrounding yam vines swayed slightly in the breeze.
