Chapter 17 - Oppose Me? Then Eat a Rasenshuriken!

Outside the Naka Shrine

Today's clan assembly was not held inside the small chamber within the Naka Shrine.

There was a simple reason for that—

the room couldn't possibly hold everyone.

In the past, only Uchiha who had awakened the Sharingan were qualified to attend clan assemblies. This time was different. Every Uchiha shinobi was required to be present. Even rookie genin who were still running D-rank errands had been dragged over.

The last time the Uchiha gathered on such a scale was when Uchiha Madara made the decision to reconcile with the Senju and jointly establish Konoha.

That single fact alone made everyone's emotions complicated.

Today's assembly would likely determine the Uchiha clan's fate for decades to come.

"Here he comes—Uchiha Nan is here!"

A sudden shout rang out from the crowd.

The noisy chatter stopped instantly, as if a switch had been flipped. Dozens—no, hundreds—of eyes turned in unison toward one direction.

The packed crowd instinctively parted, creating a path straight to the front.

Uchiha Nan walked forward calmly, under the gaze of the entire clan, wearing his signature smile.

At the highest point of the shrine steps, Uchiha Fugaku stood with his hands behind his back, watching as Nan ascended the platform step by step.

"Clan Head," Nan said evenly, "you already know why I called this assembly."

"You and Senju Tobirama are remjints of the old era. The new age has no vessel left that can carry you."

"This is an era that needs young people like me to lead the Uchiha."

"Step down."

No pleasantries.

No padding.

Straight to the point.

Confidence. Arrogance. Absolute domijince.

The Uchiha present could all feel it—this Nan was completely different from the one they knew.

"Such spirit," Fugaku praised, then immediately changed tone, his voice turning icy.

"To have someone like you among the younger generation is indeed a blessing for the Uchiha."

"But don't you think you're being far too arrogant?"

"Do you really believe that just because Senju Tobirama is dead, you can run rampant within the Uchiha—within Konoha itself?"

As Fugaku spoke, his chakra surged outward. The three tomoe in his Sharingan spun into clarity, pressure crashing down like a wave. The wooden platform beneath his feet creaked and splintered, on the verge of collapse.

Nan's expression didn't change in the slightest.

That level of pressure wasn't even close to enough to make him take a step back.

"You want to become clan head today," Fugaku continued coldly.

"Do you really think you're worthy?"

He pointed toward the assembled clan members.

Fugaku's supporters immediately understood.

"Only Clan Head Fugaku is fit to lead the Uchiha!"

"A brat who still smells of milk—how arrogant!"

"You're not qualified!"

"—"

Boos erupted instantly, drowning out the voices of Nan's supporters. Uchiha Tekka, Uchiha Inabi, and the others were completely overwhelmed.

The roar of opposition surged like a tidal wave, echoing throughout the Naka Shrine.

A satisfied smile appeared on Fugaku's face.

More than a decade of cultivation within the clan had earned him unquestionable authority. He was no incompetent leader. He had risen after Madara's departure, guided the clan through turbulent times, and led it to prosperity.

Nan was strong—but strength alone was nowhere near enough to shake him.

Nan turned his head slowly, looking toward where the loudest voices had originated.

More than a dozen three-tomoe Uchiha were staring at him with predatory eyes, like wolves sizing up prey.

Hmph.

So everyone's against me?

Fine. Then nobody plays.

Flip the table.

"Magma Release: Rasenshuriken."

Nan snorted and instantly condensed a molten Rasenshuriken in one hand. The power was calibrated perfectly—enough to teach these people a lesson and force everyone else to shut up.

So loud.

So annoying.

He hurled it without hesitation.

"Damn it—he's insane!!"

"Run?!"

"No—we can't scatter! The younger clan members are still here!"

"Barrier specialists—now!"

The dozen Uchiha were instantly on high alert. They could feel it—this attack was lethal.

They had to block it.

If it detonated freely, the younger generation behind them would be slaughtered.

"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!"

"Earth Release: Earth Flow Wall!"

"—"

"Barrier Technique: Four-Corner Seal!"

Layer after layer of defensive ninjutsu erupted. A sealing specialist barely managed to intercept the Rasenshuriken.

BOOM!

A thunderous explosion shook the area.

A wave of heat swept through the entire shrine grounds. Weaker Uchiha were blown off their feet. Fortunately, there were no deaths—only burns, bruises, and superficial injuries.

Still, everyone was left filthy, disheveled, and terrified.

How did attending a clan meeting turn into a near-death experience?!

"You bastard—are you out of your mind?!"

Fugaku's eyes were bloodshot, the tomoe in his Sharingan spinning wildly.

How dare Nan use such a dangerous technique in this situation?!

He moved to strike—

Then stopped.

Another Magma Release Rasenshuriken had already formed in Nan's hand.

Fugaku froze in place, murderous intent blazing in his eyes.

"Feeling calm now?" Nan asked lazily.

"Still want to keep shouting?"

Holding the ultimate deterrent, Nan grinned without restraint.

Below him, the Uchiha lowered their heads one by one, furious yet silent.

Especially those dozen Uchiha—clothes shredded, hair scorched, bodies injured. Their eyes burned with hatred, yet none dared move.

They were afraid.

If Nan threw another one, they'd have to block it again.

And if they dodged—

The people behind them would die.

They weren't as insane as Nan.

This guy is more Uchiha than the Uchiha themselves.

"Magma Release…?" Fugaku's expression darkened.

"How do you know that?"

Only now did he fully register it. Magma Release was a kekkei genkai—something the Uchiha clan did not possess.

Nan didn't bother answering.

Why would he explain his greatest secret?

"Hmph. Is this your trump card?" Fugaku said coldly.

"What you're doing violates clan law. Even killing you would be justified."

"You still have time to turn back. Surrender now, and I'll spare your life."

"Do you really intend to cut yourself off from the Uchiha?"

His tone was heavy, cautious. He couldn't push Nan too far—not when Nan could casually throw another one of those.

Nan tilted his head slightly, smiling.

Born evil, Uchiha Nan.
