Chapter 102 - Honeymoon Chapter: “No One Warned Us About This Much Peace”

🌴💍

---

The honeymoon started with disaster.

Not emotional disaster.

Literal disaster.

---

"WHY IS THERE SAND IN MY SUITCASE?" Jay yelled, holding up a dress.

Keifer, already halfway unpacking, paused. "…Because we're at a beach resort."

"That doesn't mean it has to attack my clothes!"

---

Day 1: Chaos Begins

Within the first hour:

- Jay got sunscreen in her eye

- Keifer got dragged into the ocean fully clothed

- A waiter almost called security because they were arguing over who forgot the room key

- And somehow… they still ended up laughing on the beach like idiots

---

"You're terrible at relaxing," Keifer said, lying back on the sand.

Jay dropped beside him dramatically. "I don't relax. I survive."

"That explains a lot."

She threw sand at him.

He did NOT move fast enough.

---

Day 2: The "Calm" Phase (It Was Not Calm)

Jay decided she wanted a "romantic breakfast moment."

It lasted 4 minutes.

Because:

- Seagull stole her pancake

- Keifer laughed so hard he nearly choked

- She tried to chase the bird

- And slipped directly into a beach chair

Keifer stared.

Then lost it completely.

"I hate you," she said flatly.

"No you don't," he replied, still laughing.

"…I'm reconsidering."

---

Night: The Shift

The resort was quiet now.

Ocean waves.

Warm air.

Soft lights.

No chaos.

Just them.

---

Jay stood on the balcony wrapped in a loose robe, hair slightly messy from the wind.

Keifer came up behind her.

"Finally peaceful," he said.

She nodded. "Suspiciously peaceful."

He hummed. "That's because you're waiting for something to go wrong."

"I am ALWAYS right."

"That's your problem."

She turned slightly. "Excuse you—"

But she stopped.

Because he was already looking at her differently.

Not teasing now.

Not joking.

Just… softer.

Closer.

---

"Jay," he said quietly.

"Hmm?"

He stepped forward.

Now there wasn't much space left.

"…We're married," he said, like he still couldn't believe it.

She smiled slightly. "Yeah. I noticed."

His hand gently brushed her wrist.

"You're still annoying," he added.

"And you're still dramatic."

A pause.

Then—

"Good," he said softly. "That means nothing changed."

---

Silence.

But not awkward.

Just… loaded.

Warm.

Intimate in a way words couldn't explain.

---

Jay tilted her head slightly. "You're staring."

"I'm allowed."

"Since when?"

"Since forever."

That made her laugh quietly.

But it faded slowly.

Because he didn't look away.

Not even a little.

---

"You know," she said softly, "this feels unreal."

Keifer nodded slightly. "Yeah."

Pause.

"But you're real," he added.

Her breath caught a little at that.

"…So are you."

---

The distance between them disappeared completely now.

Not rushed.

Not forced.

Just inevitable.

---

Keifer gently brushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

"You still overthink everything?" he asked softly.

"Unfortunately."

"Good," he said.

"Why is that good?"

"Because I'll remind you what to feel instead."

That made her go quiet.

---

A beat.

Then she whispered, "Keifer…"

He answered just as softly. "Yeah?"

She didn't finish the sentence.

Didn't need to.

---

Because some moments don't need dialogue.

Only closeness.

Only choice.

Only the quiet certainty of two people finally not running anymore.

---

The balcony door slowly closed behind them.

The ocean kept moving.

The night kept going.

And for once…

They didn't fight it.

---

End 🤍
