"Ratella! What do you think you were doing torturing them? You are supposed to kill quickly, not revel in their misery!" shouted Sarian, his usually calm demeanor completely shattered by Ratella's wicked actions.
His fist clenched tightly around his bow two light arrows knocked in the string ready to fire at a moment's notice.
The angel elite all wore horrific expressions, their eyes laced with terror at his brutality. The angels showed no fear fighting the legion of Devils but Ratella deeply terrified them practically quivering in their armor.
"What's wrong with me torturing the enemy?"
"You are an angel, not a Devil. You should know that by now. We don't cause unnecessary suffering to our enemy regardless of race, we carry out humane and swift deaths. Not this brutality."
"Oh? Would you say the same thing when faced with Sloth or would you revel in his death like he revels in your father's cruel demise?" asked Ratella, titling his head slightly in confusion at the man's words.
He expected Sarian to be all for cruelty to Devils hence why he unleashed the Devilish desires poisoning his brain relieves him of its effects.
Ever since Roda there had been a lingering feeling of bloodlust and a cardinal desire to slaughter and kill in his mind polluting his thoughts.
This feeling confirmed that he was a Devil or something similar.
"You! Would you use something I said in private against me!" barked Sarian, his grip on his weapon growing tighter, his intent to kill Ratella was evergrowing. "No! I would not enjoy killing someone whether that be a Devil or Angel. Sloth killed my father but I would not enjoy ripping the light from his body. Murderer or not otherwise. An angel shouldn't feel pleasure when killing someone."
"You're lying." stated Ratella, banishing the murmurs from everyone's mouth. "Rip the light from his body? You've thought about how you would kill him and enjoyed the thought of ripping the life out of his body. Every detail of Sloth's demise has run through your corrupted mind."
"No, I am not corrupted! I am nothing like you! You wicked freak!" shouted Sarian, going more desperate to assert his purity.
The argument was becoming more volatile by the second. Each tick of the clock threatens to start a new conflict between allies instead of Devils. The surrounding angels all could sense the brewing hatred between the two.
"Stop it, Sarian. Just leave it, it's not worth it to fight him over something like this." exclaimed Lilia rushing to his side to try and calm the anger poisoning his brain.
"He's just trying to play on your feelings. You saw what he did to those Devils he enjoys watching people succumb to anger and misery. Don't play into it!" declared Samael putting his hand against his friend's back.
"Stay out of it!"
Ratella slowly approached Sarian, his eyes laced with false pity and mockery at the man's blights. Looking down at him.
His devilish personality was beginning to cloud his true nature, reducing him to a wicked Devil revelling in the blights of others.
"Dont worry every angel was a little darkness poisoning their mind much like how ever Devil has some light polluting their own."
His words of false sympathy did nothing to quell the man's anger and fury pointed at Ratella's direction.
"I won't let this go, Ratella. I'll have your head on a silver platter for speaking ill of my father!"
"Ha! Now that's not very tempered of you, little virtue."
"Stop you two, we have bigger issues at the present. There is a looming danger hanging in the air, something is near." warned Samael, his intuition had always stuck Ratella as well tempered but the threat he was detecting was a mystery whether it was Liliana or a Sin.
"It's probably Ratella's wicked alterego." spat Sarian glaring daggers at Ratella.
His rage seemed to quell slightly at the promise of redirecting at someone who isn't an ally. The lust to rip and tear dimmed in his eyes but its presence was still known to everyone on the battlefield.
"This is something else, the feeling mirrors Ratella's but it surrounds every inch of this area. Not just focused on one point."
After his declaration, the soldiers' nerves began to heighten to their surroundings, raising their weapons in preparation for an attack.
"Assume a defensive formation! Be prepared for anything! Do not falter when faced with Devils knocking on our defenses." ordered Sarian rejoining his forces, distancing himself from Ratella.
Lilia and Samael soon joined the formation tightening their ranks, weapons drawn for the looming danger clouding the air.
"Squack!"
With Liliana's confirmation Ratella knew that the feeling Samael wasn't just his imagination something powerful was coming their way.
